ps2 was harder to develop for than dreamcast, yet multiplatform games looked better on ps2 because it was the more powerful console regardless of it being harder to develop for.

consoles suck i would of never got to play quake 2 online if i was a console gamer.

It looks like a rails section, so tiling textures doesn't matter in this instance it seems. Oh and Maya > Max ;)[QUOTE="skrat_01"][QUOTE="Shad0ki11"]
No. I just thought the texturing was funny because I'm taking a course in 3D Studio Max as part of my game art major and we were taught that our textures should never stand out like that when tiled.
I'm confident that the game looks better in motion. So far most of the Uncharted 2 screenshots have looked pretty good. This is the first one where I looked at the textures and thought "lol wut"

If you haven't read through the thread already (which you probably haven't), It's been made clear that the game looks better in motion regardless of what the textures look like in scenes where no special environmental textures are needed because it's most likely that the player will not even be seeing them at high speeds.
Regarding 3D design:
Maya rarely ever used for videogames. Maya does not translate well into game engines.
All the game projects I've worked on require3D Studio Max. Most, if not all, game companies will require you to use 3D Studio Max.
For 3D animation: Maya > 3DSMax
For all things game-related: 3DSMax >> Maya
I'm proficient with both programs btw.
yet maya was used for painkiller LULZ
no. But the game in your avatar sure does.[QUOTE="videogamesdead8"]

Man, I hate the word "Generic". Basically, Halo is "Generic" because it uses cetain Elements from Pervious Games (Which is what most Games do (Thus they're "Generic" according to Halo Haters)).

halo did a few things new like melee with weapon or dual wielding in a fps.
Wrong in both assumptions. Try Perfect Dark on the N64 which done Pistol Whipping and Dual-Wielding weapons. The only thing which i know which Halo did orignal was the regenerating Health. Halo wasnt the orignal FPS of the PS2/Xbox/GC era neither that was TimeSplitters on the PS2. Would you count Metroid: Prime series as generic as it has Aliens and a Women in a space-suit who is a bounty hunter?i played perfect dark on n64 i dont remember ability to pistol whip someone maybe u could, but i dont remember being able to shoot 2 different weapons individually i meant.
uncharted 2 looks pretty good, but the level design really isnt impressive at all to me.
the e3 moutain overlook is just a bunch of buldings there's alot of them but it's just buildings and moutains in the foreground.
this isnt new stuff to me lol, i played games so long it's hard for someone to make a original map for me to play.
