steam doesnt work on linux, and neither will alot of other games...

usually a game has to be ported, or optimized for WINE on linux...

What you can do, is report the computer shop for giving you a non-genuine copy of windows, and they may be forced to give you a genuine copy, or give you the money to buy it

one time a friend of mine took their computer to a computer shop to have it fixed, and when he got it back he found the CD they used to fix it with. turned out the CD was a burned copy of the Best Buy's Geek Squad MRI. He reported the computer shop to best buy and got 100 dollars in-store credit. So.. maybe that will work with Windows too... idk

yeah, i think an external 8800 running at 3.8 or w/e GB bandwidth is better than stupid GMA X3100, which is what a majority of laptops are outfitted with..

Well what do you mean by this?

Like you want to swap drive letters? or you want to literally rename it from Local Disk to something else?

some cards dont use enough energy to need an external power source, and draw enough power from the board

but some dont, particularly the higher end.. but idk much about that card's interfaces

the only vista64 compatibility issue ive come across so far was with NERO... nero doesnt work at all with vista64

but that doesnt make much of a difference anyway.. nero is bloated and i dont like it anyway... lol

does your mobo support 4GB of ram or just 3?

if 3, you might be alright with 32bit vista.. but with 4 youre giving yourself headway for any upgrades in the future.. and you dont want the bottleneck.. besides if you had to rebuy vista from scratch from the same price.. how dissappointing would that be.. im not sure what the price dif is between vista32 and 64.. but if its not much you might as well go for 64
