[QUOTE="dholmes19"][QUOTE="realistic44"]No Game is perfect, unless if you talk about goldeneye for the n64 lol :DC_BozkurT_C
i second this!
yea but have you guys gone back and played it recently?! i cant stand it I tellz ya!I play it at least once a month with my roommates. It's Timeless.
Back to the review I've rarely ever seen gamespot give a 9 or above rating so I think it's a homerun for The Show. I personally give it a 9 tho.
Wow, this thread just won't die. hahaha. Anyways, after playing the game a little more (too bad I'm so busy right now) I have found that by putting up arm strengthfor fielding your velocity for all pitches can reach it's peak. It's kind of an odd addition, but that seems to be the answer to the pitch velocity issue.
Case closed. lol

Lol Glad to see u solved it. MLB '08 is probably as real as it gets. I'm creating a pitcher now (was useing a SS) I want to see if I start him of with moderate stats will he grow into a phenom.
I can't seem to get it to work either. Im in Michigan.
If anyone knows how to get it to work PLEASE let me know!!!!

I feel for you man. If this problem had happened to me when I brought 'The Show' home, I would be totally freaking out.
"The Show 08" just 'feels' more like real baseball then other games I've played. The graphics are a big step up but it's all the other little details in the game that do it for me. Like the amazingly well done commentary and best career mode of any sports game I've ever played.
It's super addictive.
[QUOTE="voltron2011"][QUOTE="dadeisvenm"]Why did you think people preferred The Show 07 over 2K7 when it had inferior graphics? It's because The Show has always been better in gameplay. sorry... have to disagree.[QUOTE="Fireball2500"][QUOTE="xbox360isgr8t"]if shows best features is graphics thats not a great thing. im all for presentation but i hope it feels realistic with good hitting and pitching mechanicsdadeisvenm
The Shows batting influence and base-running is a joke compared to 2K8.
Pitching is not as visceral or innovative as 2K8.
Even the crowd sonds better in 2k8.
Pros... for the Show..... Its the prettiest MLB game I've ever seen, but if you can control all aspects of the game then whats the point?
Control all aspects? What do you mean by that? I'm not following you.
May bad. My comment should read:
"Pros... for the Show..... Its the prettiest MLB game I've ever seen, but if you can't control all aspects of the game then whats the point?"
Control all aspects... In MLB 08, ball placement in batting is a dice roll. You can influance a hit but placing a hit is a guess. In MLB 2K8, the left stick controls the influance while the right is the swing. Depending on the pressure you place on the L stick you can drop that ball anywhere you want on the feild as long as the other variables are right (timing, pitch type, pitch speed, etc)
Base-Running... extremely simple since you can advance or retreat the runners with the trigger all the while fighting off the pitcher.
Pitching is more controlled in 2K8. At first the control scheme is a bit hairy but once you belt out a few it really feels good. IT almost feels like you literally throwing the ball.
Fielding is less automatic since each player has a gage and that gage determains control and power. MAking an acurate throw in 2k8 feels great.
I guess everyone has a personal preference but I don't like the 2K controls or gameplay. Especially in the 2K8 demo.. Somehow when you add it all up it doesn't "feel' like real baseball to me where as 'The Show' does.
I am looking forward to the Gamespot review. I think it will be up by the end of the world series.earlaps
Yea, what's up with no game spot review yet?
