I'm by no means a Halo hater, but it wouldn't work on the PC. One of the things I love about Halo is, its works so well on a console. The matchmaking, when compared to pretty much every other game out there, is much better, and Reach improved on this. Forge provides a decent substitute for a PC game modding community, which traditionally added a ton of replay value to PC games. Its a perfect game to play casually with my friends. However, throw Reach, as it stands on the PC, and it gets dwarfed by games that were designed exclusively for the PC. Look at the PC port of Halo 2, or even MW2 for that matter, they're great fun on a console, but it really feels as if you're wasting your time playing the PC versions.

Also, Halo sold pretty well on the PC, Halo 2 had awful sales, mostly because it was a trash port that was 2 years too late, and shut out a majority of potential customers by forcing Vista as the operating system for no real reason.

MW2 - Yes, IWnet is that bad
Bad Company 2 - I'm not a UK user, and I haven't had any connection issues, but I've never really liked BC2, don't really know why. Just never appealed to me.
COD4 - If you had to pick one or the other, I'd definitely pick CoD4, but I think CoD4 is very much on the tail end of being a popular PC shooter.
Crysis - The online multi-player on the base game isn't very good, the expansion pack, Warhead, offered up some multi-player, whiach I haven't played yet, so can't tell you much on this.

I recommend Counter-Strike Source or Team Fortress 2. People will say that Counter-Strike has a high learning curve, but honestly, you'd have to be pretty awful at video games to not be able to pick up pretty quickly, plus there is such a variation in terms of mods that even if you don't like the base game, you're sure to find a mod you'll enjoy.

And Team Fortress 2 is far and away the best multi-player shooter I've ever played. Highly recommended, especially if you have friends who play it, the basic objective of a game is simple, but the unlockable weapons and hats add a ton of replay value to the game.

If you are getting a computer designed exclusively for gaming, then a Desktop PC would be an obvious choice, but there are definitely laptops out there that can handle pretty much everything out there today if you are willing to pay a premium for the portability.

I think the fact that this game is officially considered canon in the Star Wars universe is absolutely pathetic, considering how it completely changes how Darth Vader looks if you go back and watch the original trilogy again. George Lucas needs to get as far away from Star Wars as possible, all he's doing now is ruining it completely.

h god i hope its not to late to save you. Hear me well when I say xbox 360 was easily my biggest gaming financial mistake ever! I would not reccomend this console to anyone due to the immense amount of problems I've had. I am the most careful and responsible person I know out of my friends, and that pretty good, but the xbox is just such a peice of garbage. I've had a whopping 4 RRoD, disc unreadalbe problems, common freezing, broken discs from the console, and the list goes on. I've probably spent enough money on repairs alone for a brand new PS3, and then including the crappy controllers and really easy to break headsets, you could buy yourself a PS3 and maybe 4 games. Then you also would probably need the $100 wireless adapter, and on top of that you pay $50 a year for xbox live (don't say "oooh it's only $6 a month", because then your just a spoiled punk). Please, please, please, take my advice and get yourself a reliable PS3. They are higher quality consoles, and honestly, you just get everything xbox gets withmaybe a month delay on some addons. It's too late for me on account of how much I've already invested on my peice of sh** xbox, that as a matter of fact needs another repari because get this. It reads some discs, but can't read others. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?!?! But in the end, do whatever you want, I just hope you don't get screwed over like me.

DeathFriction

Did you really have to revive a 2 year old thread to post this rant? I am by no means a steadfast supporter of Microsoft and the Xbox 360, but a significant majority of the problems you mentioned are now non issues for a new customer.

The new Xbox has a 250 gb hard drive, the built in wireless adapter, and is FAR quieter than the Xboxes that came before it. Additionally, the Red Ring issue has all but been completely dealt with. It might happen now occasionally, but not anywhere near the same rate which it was occuring in the past.

I agree with you that Microsoft probably shouldn't charge for Xbox Live, but really, it is up for the individual to decide whether or not they are getting their money's worth out of it.

Really, my advice to anyone considering buying a next gen console, is to compare each system's exclusives, and determine which games you'd rather have. Most of the multi-plat games will run slighly better on Xbox, but it really comes down to the exclusives, or in some circumstances, which system more of your friends have.

Some of the online features shown in the video look pretty cool, but the game itself doesn't look all that promising once you play it. The fact that they are hyping up gameflow so much is completely ridiculous, and the commentary is really, really, really, bad, but this isn't unusual for the series. I'm not sure why, but for whatever reason, I was pretty much dead set on buying this game at launch, something which I rarely, if ever, do with sports games, but the demo has made me reconsider.

Eh, I'll probably end up buying 2K11 first, but NBA Elite looks promising, EA has been stepping up their game lately.

There are so many bad arcade games out there that its difficult to say just one, so I'll leave this one alone for now. As for retail games, ignoring games that were obviously not marketed for me (High School Musical 3, I'm looking at you!), I'd have to say Hour of Victory. It is just horrid, with no redeeming values whatsoever, the PC version didn't even make it to the U.S.

From what I've played of MoH, it just seemed like the game itself felt a little too slow considering you were in close combat situations.

Its entirely possible, but at this point any discussion on whether it will be on Steam or not is kind of pointless, but I think it will, if not on day 1, eventually at some point in its lifetime.
