What people don't understand is that our education system isn't failing because of how much we go to school, its because we have a fundamentally bad system.

Not everyone is tailored for the traditional high school-university education style. We need to have a system close to say Germany's. You have a "high school" that is purely academic and leads to higher education, its a privilege and you have to have the motivation and achieve it yourself. Then you have a school that is a mix, sort of preparing kids for the workforce, but still educating them on other subjects. Then you have a school that is closer to internship.

Why would a kid who sucks at traditional school, and knows that he/she wants to go directly to the workforce, want to put themselves through our BS, failing high schools? Oh thats right, they waste the states money getting D's and probably dropping out because they are getting nothing out of it.

I think they look great if you can pull them off. Look WAY better than the stupid, overdone diamond/studs.

And to the people posting those pictures of the extreme gauges, thats the equivalent of posting someone with a full face tattoo and having people think thats what all tattoos look like.

[QUOTE="Xx_Hopeless_xX"]

You may regret it once you get to know people and how most of them work...

Xx_Hopeless_xX

Why? What do you mean?

They will try and use you for their own means, lie to you to get you on their side, pressure you into things you normally wouldn't do, try and destroy your values and moral beliefs, try and get you to accept their way of thinking, girls will break your heart and deceive you, people will be rude and mock you for doing things you enjoy and they will try and make you conform to their way of thinking...they will leave you confused and questioning everything you have ever done..and you will feel cold and alone..and they will laugh as you try and come to terms with everything you're struggling with...and they will kick you while you're down...and laugh as you cry...you'll lock yourself in your room and try to escape them, they'll try and fill your mind with perverted thoughts...try and make you see how they do...and lastly, they'll try and strip away all your individuality, so that they don't feel so bad that they themselves cannot amount to anything more then what society tells them to be...

Whoa that sounds like a bad teenage love drama. Does that actually happen in real life?

Sometimes when I play drums I'll come up with a crazy groove out of nowhere and think "I wish someone else was here to hear this!" Not that I'm full of myself, but there is something wrong with you if you don't pride yourself on doing things.

I don't think many of you have been around 4 year olds recently haha. Well maybe it will show the parents that the 35k a year that will go towards his "private" education is not worth it one bit.

The only thing worth watching on NBC is The Office and 30 Rock anyways. Although the only late night show I ever watch is Conan, so I guess theres another lost viewer once hes gone.

Since I was young, the importance of accepting and embracing other cultures has been stressed throughout my education. I have always been taught to accept others, and to refrain from judging someone solely on their appearance. It wasn't until I spent time with someone from another culture that I began to understand the reasons why. In the summer between my 7th and 8th grade year, my family hosted a Japanese exchange student. Before this experience, I had very limited knowledge on Japanese traditions, land, and culture. I was anticipating difficulty in communication, assuming there would be a massive language barrier that would inhibit our ability to form personal connections with one another.

We picked him up from the airport, and an awkwardly silent ride home ensued. As he fought off jet lag, we also began to fight off the language barrier. It was extremely difficult to converse with him, yet as our comfort and security with one another grew, so did our ability to interact. Conversations were brief and forced, but I was able to learn about his way of life through our activities and experiences together. Activities as simple as a game of basketball became powerful sessions of learning and growth. As I learned more about his way of life, he learned about mine. Learning about a person through their actions and character gave me a deeper insight into a culture completely foreign to me. The cultural differences were massive, yet it showed me that even if I am seemingly unlike any other person, everyone can share a common bond: Our humanity.

Lol i just submitted my college apps

I really like poetry, its a good outlet for expression. I'm sure if you like any kind of reading, there is definitely poetry out there that would interest you.

Oh, and somehow I think my post came off as negative for legalization I think. I am all for legalization, but what I am afraid of is that cannabis will go the way of cigs. Mass produced garbage
