In my honors chemistry and biology, my teachers would give out work related to in class work as well as homework that went beyond what we did in class. In high level classes and CHS classes they are meant to model college courses in most cases. So I'm guessing there philosophy behind this was to stop babysitting us, and let us choose how good we did in the course.

In any high level class I've taken (Honors, CHS, AP) besides math and english, homework is purely optional and is given out for your own benefit. If you take this approach with all homework, you will turn out better in the long run.

Although I do agree. I think it was in my junior year honors math, but my teacher wouldn't even tell us how to do the work, and would then give us 40 problems on it. Thats the only time homework should be "banned" so to speak. Teachers need to do their jobs before expecting you to do yours.

Or it could have been because I'm not an honors level math student :P

Honestly people don't freak out at Islam for what one psycho lady says on TV. Ever seen "The most hated family in America?" It was a BBC special about an extremist christian church that protested soldiers funerals with signs like "God hates the *** army" They said they were glad that the American soldiers died because they defended a government that is tolerant of homosexuals.

It happens in every religion.

No it was earlier in the post, someone telling a story about how a kid listened to lady gaga, so he gave them a list full of bands like that. Then the kid said he would rather listen to lady gaga,

"Rise Against, Nickelback, Bullet for my Valentine, Seether, Theory of a Deadman"

Well, with a list like that I would listen to lady Gaga too. And I HATE her.

Well of course. For this example lets say if it doesn't harm anybody, and don't say that gay marriage hurts the sanctity of marriage.
