you break the cycle of poverty with sound economic policies. and all the good things will follow[QUOTE="weedfacekilla"][QUOTE="wavey_gravey"]People in this thread are STILL missing the essential point of the UN's suggestion. This isn't aimed at comfortable western cultures! This is aimed at those developing nations where women do not have control over their own bodies. What the UN is suggesting is simple, every women around the globe has a FUNDAMENTAL right to choose whether she has a child or not. This is not a question of money, or a call for more socialist policies in the US - PLEASE look outside your provincial bubbles. You might not care what is happening around the world (more fool you), however there are millions of women around the world forced in to marriage at an early age, denied access to education and effectively live their lives as brood mothers. This is not good for a country both culturally, socially and economically. By educating communities about contraception and the possibility of wasted lives and potential of countless girls you can break the cycle of poverty.theone86
And they call liberals utopianists.
yea liberals are utopianists in the sense they believe they can get something for nothing, you clearly have no basic economic understanding, look at how the united states prospered, south korea, japan, chile. capitalism raised the standard of living for everyone.
