@Ghostdog201 @whalesex I'm huge into strategy games. They rarely have much theme going on but they have absolutely brilliant mechanisms that make your mind melt...but you still have fun.

That said, there are some really awesome blends of the two out there. For instance, Mansions of Madness, Cyclades, Eclipse (soooo good), Terra Mystica, Android: Netrunner, and Pandemic.

If you're looking for pure strategy, I highly suggest: The Castles of Burgundy, Puerto Rico, 7 Wonders, Trajan, and oh so many more.

My first word of advice is to head to boardgamegeek.com It's an infinite wealth of resource.

@Ghostdog201 It all depends on your tastes. Do you like thematic/ fantasy/ horror stuff or do you like more strategy/ non-luck driven gameplay?

@Renoo27 There are some really great solitaire games out there. I highly suggest trying a game called Friday by Friedeman Friesse (sp?).
