I love WoW and have been playing since the beginning but everything about this expansion turns me off. I don't share most of the sentiments that a good number of WoW players bitch about such as "too casual" etc, it just doesn't look fun. I played the beta for about 2 hours and said "I just can't do this anymore."

I was really hoping the whole thing was a practical joke when it was announced at Blizzcon but alas, I was wrong. I'm not burnt out on the game and would happily enjoy a large content bump, but this is definitely not what I was looking for. Goodbye Blizz, thanks for the fun years.

I'm convinced that the Wonderbook had so much stage time simply because J. K. Rowling was behind it. The amount of money they probably had to pay her to be involved was an investment and I'm sure those involved with that investment would have been quite angry with less of a showing. Moreover, I would imagine that those in charge of Rowling's intellectual property signed a deal that said the Wonderbook would get that much time. It's all about money, always.

@Legrieme Glad you could get your links in to your poorly written blog. Also, thanks for bringing some thoughtful conversation to the table.

I think it's quite funny to hear the editors complain about going to E3 because it's so hard for them to get anything done etc etc, yet they say that most of the big information from the event comes prior to the actual event. As a journalist who has attended E3, I can honestly say that it is a nut house in there, but that is what makes it so great. The show-floor allows you to take the news from the previous days, and really extrapolate on what makes that news important. I personally feel that the editors have no room to complain when they know for a fact it's going to be a mess out there. Get your facts straight from the prior day announcements and head forth towards the coverage you need. Simple as that. Things that are not covered by the conference are what make cirque du E3 so fun to attend. Running around trying to find a hiden gem was the most appealing aspect of the entire expo to me. If the Gamespot editors are lacking fun in attending the show, maybe they should reconsider their position in the industry. I too get annoyed with the sheer amount of people that do not need to be there, but with patience and planning, it's not as big of a deal you guys have made it out to be. A large part of me feels that E3 is for the people, it's just the media's responsibility to make sure the people get what they want. I hope that the spirit lives on.
