Definitely agree with The Witcher 3. I've clocked 200 hours and I'm still going back to it every now and then. It's an amazing game, and nothing in my opinion even came close in 2015.
Some of the import reviews I read for this weren't exactly positive, which put a dampener on my excitement. I adore Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii, and from what I read this was a step backwards. But the reviews it has received have been good so far, so I'm hyped again.
I think the biggest compliment I can pay The Witcher 3 is that it was so good it made everything else look ordinary by comparison. Or at least I think it did. It was by far the standout game of the year and well deserving of the award. I fully expect it to win Game of the Year at the D.I.C.E. awards as well.
@Kiyosuyo: You're saying it as if Shenmue fans care. Trust me, we don't. This could be on the f*cking Dreamcast and we wouldn't care (I'd actually prefer that, for the nostalgia). We're getting Shenmue III, us fans don't care how it looks, we're just glad to finally get what we want. And the game is still in development, you can't judge how a game looks only 3 months after development really started.
@weirjf @widdowson91 I've played it. I don't pass comment on a feature of a game if I haven't experienced it for myself. That's just ignorant. Fact is, Mass Effect 3's multi-layer was tacked on and it felt like it was. If you enjoy it more power to you, but it just shouldn't have been there. If it wasn't published by EA I almost 100% guarantee it wouldn't have been there.
Thief is one of the finest games I have ever played. Looking Glass Studios was an amazing developer, and in their rather short existence made some of the finest PC games I've ever had the honour of playing.
