But sales don't matter...

Unless you're a fanboy, or a shareholder in which case good job dude 8)

tomarlyn

or if you want a whole bunch of great games to come to your system but who would want that

*bangs head against wall*

They're important but they don't stand for anything like this TC is trying to constitute. Sales do not = quality.

TC actually said Sales = Quality? Where?

You don't need to be so defensive, people know you have your own opinion on how bad the Wii is, but others just might have their own opinion too, no need to preach all day on how "sales is totally meaningless", it's meant for those who actually care, no one is saying Wii won the whole world by beating XBox 360 in sales, at least not in this thread.

if you align the launches AND REMOVE JAPANESE NUMBERS FROM THE WII the 360 and the Wii are on the exact same pace

I have to explain this clearly as it seems no one understands my last topic

The Wii isnt doing as great as you think, without the japanese support it would be in the EXACT same position as the 360

so if MS can manage a huge footprint with Lost Odyssey then it will be interesting, BUT WITHOUT JAPAN THE WII WILL WIN

Wii's sales

3.8 mil in america

2 mil in Europe

thats 6 million,

if you line up the launches without japan the wii and the 360 are completely even

roughly 6 mil to 6 mil

THE WII HAS AN ADVANTAGE BECAUSE OF JAPAN

god I hope my point gets accross in this version of the thread... that other one just needs to die

supermechakirby

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360

MS shipped 6 million XBox 360's by the end of September 2006, it's not even a number on how many were actually bought by consumers.

Conclusion, whether you want to look at sales in Japan or not, Wii is doing much better during its first 9 months, compare to how XBox 360 was doing during itsfirst 9 months.

Your imaginary numbers are wrong in the first place, so please try again.

Uh... wrong?

Wii is easily doubling the 360's sales in both North American and Pal territories

supermechakirby

uh no, this time last year the 360 had around 6 million sold, if you take out the japanese numbers for the wii its exactly 6 million sold...

THE POINT OF THIS THREAD IS THAT MS NEEDS JAPAN

MS shipped 6 million XBox 360's worldwide by September 2006 (or around that period of time), it's not a sold thru number to consumers.

We are in the middle of August right now. It's very logical to say that more than 10 million Wii's have been sold. Little more than 3 million sold in Japan, do the math, even if you don't count Japan, around 7 million Wii's have been sold to consumers.

Around 7 million Wii's sold to consumers (minus Japan), it's not even September right now.

MS shippedaround 6 million XBox 360's worldwide by September 2006, that's not even a number telling us how many were actually bought by consumers.

Please don't make up your own numbers.

So much for PS3 selling 40,000 and Wii selling 70,000, aqccording to the more precise numbers, Wii is still beating PS3 3:1 when PS3 had a terrific week. I can't believe a few cows fell for that. I knew it doesn't make sense for PS3 to be close to 40k if Hot Shots Golf only sold around 150k.
