*Sigh* I swear every time someone uses god as a legitimate argument....GettingTiredWhat are you gonna do, eat us?
Would whiping Somalia off the face of the earth really be a good idea? Why not just the people who participated in the stoning :?Somalia needs to be wiped off of the face of the Earth. Seriously, the people who participated in the stoning of this man don't know their religion too well. Adultery isn't a real crime but murder is. And I'm pretty sure their god, if he is real, will not like that at all.

I wonder what Jesus would have said about stoning adulterers.garaa2007
Are those fighting words against Christianity or are you trying to say the author is a bit off on his morals?Just asking :)
Can it be both ?
Depends on what he says, I'm not trying to limit his response, just trying to make the context of my question clear.[QUOTE="Jemdude"][QUOTE="Mark_the_Lie"]
Sorry to further decrease everyone's faith in humanity.
Aren't we in the 21st century now, or am I mistaken? I mean, seriously...

The moral laws of right and wrong do not disappear just because we are in a different time period. Adultry is dangerous because the guilty party can bring an STD into a merriage relationship and infect the innocent party for example.
As far as stoning is concerned, if that is part of their law, so be it. However, I question how they determine proof of adultry and when they stone only one of the two guilty parties.

[QUOTE="wiistation36000"] [QUOTE="Ace_WondersX"] I don't know what you mean by Iran has supported terrorists, Do you mean they sold weapons to the insurgents in Iraq? Personally I can't see the fault in that considering we have done the same thing.Ace_WondersXI was talking about Hezbollah. Almost every nation in the middle east supports Hezbollah, they're a political party. I would hardly call them terrorist, they established a school system in Lebanon, system of Hospitals, and Agricultural services. A couple of their members decide to attack the Israeli government and Israel used that as an excuse to shoot dozens of missiles randomly into the areas that they thought Hezbollah was stationed. Sorry I have to use wikipedia, but I'm tired.

McCarthy makes a great punching bag, but a lot of those people he went after really were commies.[QUOTE="aransom"]
[QUOTE="Ace_WondersX"] lol, the Senator McCarthy my bad.Nkemjo
I will never for the life of me understand why some people think communists deserve death. It is just another political ideology like democracy is. I think it stems from the indoctrination people received during the cold war that anything communist was evil so as to combat russia which rivaled the usa at the time.
Combat Russia? With what, words?
Anyway, communism has a bad history mainly based on the people who tried to institute it, and based on human nature itself (people like to own the things they want, blah blah) so it's not too crazy of an idea to view communism as a target.
Now, please, for the love of God do not take what I said out of context, I am not trying to say any communists should be shot on sight.
[QUOTE="wiistation36000"][QUOTE="sSubZerOo"] People don't understand this.. The reason why the United States government doesn't want many nations to have them is because we can not put political and military pressure on them anymore and have to talk on a even level.. The United States and the West for the past 100 years has been used to treating nations like the ones in the Middle East as subordinates that they manipulate for thier own gains.Wait, it doesn't have to do with the mass destruction part of them? No nation would ever be dumb enough to use them, because they would be blown off the face of the earth too. Like the Cold War, yea McCartney would have loved nuke communism off the face of the earth, but we couldn't because we would be attacked with nuclear bombs too. Remember when terrorists suicide bombed the twin towers? That seems pretty stupid to me. Well, so what? Iran has supported terrorists and well, anyone who has the audacity to do that seems a bit stupid to me as well. Does this mean Iran is gonna develop nukes and destroy the world? Probably not, but honestly, I don't like testing the intelligence of terrorists, or the people who support them.Ace_WondersX
