Wow, you mean XMB will have free demos and videos?

Don't post again until you have a real question.

As long as Qore and Pay To Play are around, gold membership is never going away.elektrixxx

Well you get free demos and videos on PSN already? I'm not sure what you're trying to say here?

Or do you mean that you have a lot more demos and videos on XBL?

Well the headset is cheap, and the sound quality is dismal.....

And yeah the community is much to be desired - which is why I only play online with friends.

Yea network issues are annoying (especially in my country).

ect. ect.

Its still the best online for a console out there bar none.

Doesent justfify the rediculous gold price tag though.

Quick question for you: Is it possible to buy a wireless headset besides the microsoft one? Like, could you buy a Logitech blutooth headset or something and use it with the 360? I was thinking about this today because I want to buy a headset for my PS3, and I was curious if it was the same type of situation with 360.

Dont think so, I only think the MS Wireless one and wired ones are compatible with the 360, however if you get a xbox wireless pc adapator you can use your wireless headset with your pc

Oh ok, thanks for the info. I am considering buying a 360 at the end of the year (xmas time) and I was hoping that the blutooth headset I buy with PS3 would work with a 360 as well. Oh well, it's all good. (I'll just get the MS one as well)

You don't pay monthly fees for XBOX Live because the XBOX360 has a Ingame XMB, you pay to play online and thats basically it. XBOX live is a rip off yes. But Microsoft know that they can get away with it.FloWeN-UK

oh ok. So, if you buy a live membership for $50 or whatever it is, how many hours can you play online? (is it unlimited for a year?)

I'm probably getting this wrong because I haven't really used XBL before and so I don't know how it works. I've seen some vids of it but that's about it. I don't know all the costs involved.

I was thinking of buying a 360 though at the end of this year to go along with my PS3 and wii. That way I'll have the complete set :)

XBL should have been free a long time ago, it has nothing to do with PSN.Chutebox

I agree but I figured that if PSN gets its in-game XMB up to scratch so that it is almost as good as XBL, then I would have thought that this would increase the pressure on MS to do something about it's XBL fee. (to either reduce it or eliminate it altogether).

Ok, assuming that in-game XMB for PSN turns out to give the PS3 online functionality that is roughly on par with XBOX360, should Microsoft make its XBL service free?

Uncharted has very good re-playability.

I beat the game once and played through again.

I also use the 'chapter select' that you get when you beat the game to go to whatever chapter I like and play it as well.

Uncharted really is a lot of fun and I can't wait for Uncharted 2.

SolidTy

Thanks for the post, that clarifies that Uncharted, to some gamers, has good replayability.

The issue really is, Cosmo said Short Games = Lower Scores.

If that's the case, Short games with no mp, like Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Ratchet, and LOADS more if you want to use GS's database, deserve what score?

It is a subjective thing now. In the past when there was no online component, games like Bioshock would always receive high scores. People would often replay the game because they want to get more out of the $60 they spent on the game. Back then, when parents bought a game, it's not like they would buy 10 games for the kids at once. They might buy one game per month if the kid was lucky. So, ofcouse the kid would replay the game as much as possible and try to get their highest score.

Now, things have changed with online play being a default standard in gaming. So, technically games that don't have online play should get a lower score. But the thing is that for some games, online makes sense and for some it doesn't. For Bioshock and uncharted it probably doesn't make sense since they are story driven games. I suppose you could have it but the story part of the game is good enough of an attraction IMO.

Your pricing tells me you live in not in the U.S. so that price seems much higher. For instance, I picked up the collector's edition MGS4 with extra CD/Blu-Ray disc for $79.99. Whereas if you had that option, it may bave been over $120...Unless you do live in the U.S. and overstimated Uncharted's price.

Anyways, I have seen in SW people underestimate game lengths, but I do have a counter to your Short game = Low Score.

What did you think of BioShock, another game that lacks MP and was very short, arguably even shorter than Uncharted?

In other words, what Score did BioShock Deserve? What about Assassin's Creed?Heck, what about Ratchet?

All those games could be argued as "Short" and lack MP.

SolidTy

Of course, you don't touch upon the lack of replayability mentioned by cosmostein.

That's in the eye of the beholder, that is a matter of opinion for any game when you really think about it. Are you telling me that no one played thru Uncharted again, when they finished it? Are you saying Uncharted doesn't offer goodies for a second playthru? That is, at best, a minute point that could be argued for any game. What's the replayability of Assassin's Creed, Ratchet & Clank, PacMan, Super Mario Bros., Jak and Daxter, Asteroids, Phantom Dust, KungFu Panda, Simpson's Game, Chronicles of Riddick, etc.

Again, if it's fun, people will play them again and again. Heck, Ratchet has more replayability than Bioshock, Uncharted, and Assassin's Creed, but that's my opinion. I don't want to argue that point.

Funny how you don't want to answer the question either, so far 3-4 posters have nitpicked my post, but none will answer the harder question.

My main question stands, what does the singleplayer game like Assassin's Creed, Chronicles of Riddick, Bioshock, Ratchet, and Uncharted Deserve? They lack MP and they are all considered Short games.

Personally I think Uncharted deserved a 10. For one week, I was totally immersed in Uncharted and PS3. I had so much joy over that week as I played the game. I had so much fun, that after I beat the game, I sent an email to naughty dog, thanking them for making the game and requesting that they work on Uncharted 2. (I also received a response from them too, which was great).

Usually I never send an email out to a company for anything but for Uncharted I did.

im sure the psn community is really just as bad.....but you dont know it because no one has a mic

if they did, they would be raving a-holes too

REforever101

lol just play Resistance online for awhile and you'll find that you are correct. There are some idiots that do 'all of the above' as far as being online on the mic.

Having said that there are a lot of great people using mics as well.

Thing about mics is that for some of these games it is pointless. I mean for CTF or TDM I can understand why mics is useful but in FFA DM it is pointless lol.

I'm kind of glad that there aren't more people using mics on PSN.
