Street Fighter IV for sure!!

In all honesty i just wanna be able to chat with my friends and others during games like i can when im playing games on xbox live.One of my favorite parts of playing online games on live is that i can communicate with people on xboxlive and it hasnt worked well on the ps3 online.I really wanna play games like metal gear and resistance online and be able to talk to everyone and it just doesnt work well.Ive bought and borrowed several headsets trying to fix the problem and nothing seems to work for me or my friends.I really love the fact the psn is free,its just i want it to work as good as live does online.Theres a lot of features on xboxlive that im willing to let go of as long as i can chat during games.The gameplay is the main thing but voice chat is a close second.Please sony fix this some how,maybe release a standard headset.I dont know what the answer is i just want it to work because it really annoys me that its not as good as xboxlive.Im even willing to pay for psn as long as they can get the voice chat thing up and running like it is on xboxlive.loudharley

What you say here is fine. One thing though: If you could 'space' out or add some paragraphs to your post it would so much easier to read. At first I just skipped over your text because reading a big block like that is annoying. Breaking up a post like yours into paragraphs makes it so much faster to read through.

Cows need to wake up. PSN may eventually match the main features in Xbox Live, but in the end, Microsoft is a software developer and they will find a way to improve XBL such that it is always superior to PSN.

I notice that cows like to mention that XBL costs money for its subcription each year. Well I got news cows, one of two things will happen:

1. Either Sony will start charging money for access to PSN (we see this with Core or whatever its called already LOL) OR

2. Microsoft will start giving access to Xbox Live services for Free.

Well, anyway I hope that PSN in game XMB does at least give PS3 gamers level footing with XBL for now. Yes, I'm a PS3 gamer but I know how good MS can be with the software so I'm betting they have something up their sleeve.

I agree with hermits that PC gaming is far from dead. It will make a comeback from 2009 onwards as the TC mentions.

Having said that I think console gaming will be as popular as ever.

This generation of consoles really has the online play stuff worked out well.

It is on wii/360/ps3. Now if it gets a 9 on wii and an 8 on 360 and ps3, does that mean the wii version is better?

Most of the games you mention there are probably better on PC as well, so I'm not sure I understand your comparison.

I can see where you are coming from with review scores. That's a fair point but I don't think that's how it works. I think when reviewers review their games, the score is more related to how it plays for a particular platform. Having said that it is usually a close comparison these days since the games don't change that much. I'd have to go through and read each review to be sure.

I guess an easy example would be medal of honour on wii. Is medal of honour for wii going to be better or worse than medal of honour on PC?--but then again medal of honour probably did get a poor review compared to the PC version anyway, which would re-enforce your point of view.

I don't know, but I don't compare games between PC and Console. I would expect that games that are made for PC or at the same time as console to be just as good or better on a PC because the hardware on a PC can be a lot more powerful.

The other issue that is in your favour is that a lot of these games have the same specifications as the console versions such as COD4 etc. They are essentially the same games so I guess they can be compared.

Why buy a game that is 'better than most multiplayer FPSs' if its 4 year old predacessor absolutely stomps it?

This is the problem.....

Its PC online community is virtually dead, and the PSN one is next to non existant. The XBL one is goingto crumble on release.

Sure its not a bad game, but honeslty why give it a go when its so drastically inferiour to its much older predacessors?

It may not be as good but I wouldn't call it 'drastically inferior' from a multiplayer gameplay point of view. The GUI may suck etc but the gameplay mechanic and weapon balance is still very good and fun. The only issue for me would be the number of people that play the game online. If it is too low then I wouldn't bother with it. If there ends up being a decent number online then it's a diffrent story. Furthermore I don't want to play games on my PC. I want to play on console.

I guess we all have different needs and criteria that we need fulfilled when deciding to buy a game. I have this game on PS3 but I was hoping it would do well on 360 so that they at least decide to make a new UT4 game or something.

It is a phail game because not enough people are playing it online. Essentially the game got of to a bad start when they released a broken beta demo on PC. It never fully recovered from that point.

If people would actually get online and play, I bet they'd have more fun. But alas you are right...it is a phail game as it stands.

I was hoping that this could change of the 360 community gets into the multiplayer in a big way. I had high hopes :(

I dont think it's much to do with people playing, to be honest. I never have trouble getting a game. It's playing the actual game itself which is the issue.

ohh ok. hmm...maybe this style of game is just not that much fun for a lot of people any more. I always thought it was that there wreren't many people online. Although you got to ask yourself why it is that more people don't play online.

Maybe it's because the game is so different to other fps. You don't automatically heal in UT3. Also I think the skill level is a little tough for newbies who go up against the good players. In UT3 the good players decimate the newbies rather badly. It's not that newbies can't get good but it would be tough to accept dying so much when learning how the play the game.

Oh cmon man...there are some people that actually prefer the original UT1 style of gameplay over the 2k4 version. UT3 is a good game. It really is. Why must it be compared to it's previous incarnation?

Most people who enjoyed UT1 hated UT2k3 and UT2k4. Many of the people who got good at UT2k4 did not play UT1 all that much and so when UT3 came out they hated it. Just because the hardcore UT2k4 players hated UT3 does not mean that someone who has never played a UT game before won't enjoy it.

Its gameplay is that of UT04, with tweaks here and there....

And I loved UT99', put more hours into it than 03 and 04 combined.

Its just not that good. It lacks content, gamemodes are missing and have been simplified, less of a variety of characters and locations, the menu / ui is simply abysmal, the singleplayer is a joke and the modding community doesent even care for it one ounce.

On the modding community put this in perspective. Next semester for my uni course I was supposed to be modding UT3 as a group assignment, however UT3 was dropped by the people running the subject for UT04 simply because the modding support was that poor.

Though UT3 does have its merits. The visuals are nice, the art style is great (even though it lacks variety) and the Necris vehicles are awesome. Thats about it.
