@Macutchi: glad you enjoyed it! I read Enders Game earlier this year, and had a funny recollection i'd read it ages ago when I was maybe 11-12 years old. then towards the end, I suddenly remembered that twist before it happened. glad I re-read it though, I suspect a lot of it went over my head at that age.
I'd absolutely read the first Red Rising trilogy before the second. Its still really good, even if I liked the second one a bit more.
@R4gn4r0k: thanks, yea I missed being on steam as well. It was painful seeing people posting screenshots of what they were playing when I couldn't game at all so i pretty much stopped going on there for a while.
now i'm just catching up with all the stuff on gamepass though so I'm still not really playing much on there - just started Jedi Survivor which seems good so far, seems like they sorted out the performance issues from launch
thanks for the honest write-up. I didn't mind the basic gameplay elements in the first one due to the strength of the story and strong presentation making it quite immersive, but felt things kinda fell apart later in the game for both the gameplay and the story as it tried to get more ambitious/less grounded.
luckily this is on gamepass so it can be tried without risk!
I uninstalled this after a month because of the HDD space requirement. I'd probably keep it installed and play it every now and then if it was more reasonable.
they need to find a way to reduce it drastically. I don't see how they can justify needing so much space
