somehow i just wanna get it for Xbox as well as PC, because on Xbox i wanna see the spectacle that is leading a bunch of pre teens as commander. it will be gloriously ragetacular!
you gotta give Treyarch credit where credit due, at least they put real effort into those map packs, and especially in those zombie maps. it's commendable effort weather you like it or not.
i remember when i played COD-4 it was about: skill, proper recoil management, flanking, listening, positioning.... and than came MW2, and what is it since than what it was on every new COD game? twitch, hide, killstreak...
yeah there might be a gazillion extra perks and plenty of "balance" (tehehe...) reworks, but the core has rotten away. and the funny thing is they always promise that COD will "go back to it's roots" of the winning formula of COD-4... pfffttt i bet we will hear this again!
and in the end, COD just gets extrapolated in it's regurgitation of excess. it's like an obese cyborg that's about to explode at any minute now and only black magic can help it...
honestly, this is a pretty lazy game... what made oldschool games good wasn't just 20 miles per hour running and gunning with a few impossibly obscure puzzles sprinkled here and there and big giant bosses. the best games of the oldschool all had something special, something for the thinking man- and they felt SHARP.
this game just doesn't feel sharp and while yes i really admire the effort, it's just not there yet. and i find it funny that in 2013 we can accept would would be a pretty mediocre game in the 90s as some sort of "nostalgic refreshment".
i'm actually looking forward to something like the first Unreal or System Shock Quake... with everything that was good about those games, without compromise to the oldschool but a game that really is technologically up to standarts and not just a lazy throwback...
we need total war: China... there is so much history, so many epic battles, so many different factions. from five dynasties ten kingdoms to the zhuan dynasty. also, kung fu monks, gorgeous landscape, the great tao, philosophy, mongols... there is too much for a single game, but i'll be dammed if creative assembly won't at least visit those settings once.
