Used to be big on cardio. Mostly running and swimming. And yeah used to hoop it up a lot, but that was waaaayy back lol.
Best shape of my life was a mix of bodybuilding style resistance training along with conditioning work I'd do with my boxing buds. Would like to get back to that.
Currently just straight resistance training, PPL split. No fancy programming, no blocks, just straight forward progressive overload. I really should work in more cardio though. Aside from a quick stair machine warmup before each lift, only going on walks.
I fell off in a bad way during covid, been a struggle getting back. Right when muscle memory started picking up, got hit with distal bicep tendinopathy. 😑 At least it wasn't a full tear, but still, it's been a setback these past 5 months.
I still lift weights to stay big coz i am used to intimidate people on the streets which is funny and i don´t want to miss that.
I definitely don't do it for that,
This is always an interesting topic to discuss, "the actual reason" as to why people lift weights, coz the majority of bodybuilders (especially them!) are in fact just "ego-builders", they´re doing it for their ego mostly.
And of course all those steroid-, let alone those synthol-freaks, are of course just doing it because "lifting weights is so healthy!" or "lifting weights cured my back-problems!" or "i was fat and lifting weights helped me getting lean!"
