"game as a service" is code for put out a mediocre game and instead of fix it up, put all focus on a playerbase of players who are hooked on spending real money on cosmetics and/or powerful upgrades...
@mistervulpes: don't forget, instead of scavenging for junk that might be of interest.. you'll be out collecting their funny money that you then spend to buy those cosmetic things that will be the dominating feature of the game... and this is done via real money... this middle man inserted right into your game experience... calling it a game when its a group of bandits demanding you pay a toll to cross the bridge...
@Litchie: MS likes to pay companies off in attempt to make the xbox seem like an important device...
for those types of people, that this works on.. if you can't wait 1 week... you have no self-control and this sort of weakness is why gambling and loot boxes has taken over this industry.
@Pyrosa: not a solution. they just decided that good game stuff, like story, dialogue, choices was unimportant.. they replaced all that with.... a junk processing simulator.
