So far its been around 14 hours, and its perfectly stable. As far as the thermal connections goes, my fan seems secured. Is there any way to find o ut for sure if my cpu is really ta 80 degrees? And also what temp does the e8400 go bye bye lol?
wwwa's forum posts
I have been stress testing for 10 hours so far at 80 degrees plus, and nothings happned. I touched the heatsink and its not even warm. My temps were around 60 degrees at full load at stock.
The distance to tjmax in real temp is reporting 20, at full load. Btw, every one, my cpu is running at 80 degrees at full load, and around high 40's or low 50's when idle. I have tried other software such as speed fan, but it reports 10 degrees higher. I have searched around, and it turns out most e8400 have bad temp reading sensors, and realtemp is supposed to be the best for e8400's
1.225, read the original post, it might have other info you are looking for. Thanks for tring, i apreciate it.:)
yes i did, a very thin layer (the right amount) about a pea size drop.
well atleast according to realtemp...... I just overclcoked my Intel E8400 with an Asus p5q pro. I have 8 gigs of ram set at a 1 to 1 ratio and an fsb of 400, and multiplier of 9, giving me 3.6 ghz. The voltage I gave was only 1.225. Though I have ran orthos for about ten hours now, real temp says my temp is 80 degrees, but if i take off the pc case door, and touch my cpu cooler, its really not even warm. This is the cpu cooler I'm using, http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=206152497&listingid=23131024&.dcaid=17902. So should I just ignore these temps, and even if its really at 80 degrees, can i still stress test it for 24 hours. I also did try reseating the cpu coooler but no luck.
Im just using prime 95, but the thing is I just let it runovernight while stress testing, and I dont know if it fialed or not. Prime 95 isnt on my screen anymore, but some other webpages are which Im guessing means it didnt reboot, and everytime it crashed it gave me n error before closing. So does this mean it passed or failed lol.
Hey guys, I just bought the most budget pc i could lol :). I bought an E5200 duo cpu, a gigabyte G31 mobo (I know, but it was cheap, and I think its the problem) an ocz stealthxstream 500 watt psu, and an ocz vanquisher cpu cooler, along with two gigs of ddr2 800 corsair xms2 ram. Well anyway I oc'ed the chip to 3.2 ghz, and its stable so far, but I've benn hearin I could get it too 3.6 ghz. Well anyway, I have it running at an fsb of 256 with a multi of 12.5. My temps at full load are 56 degrees celsious. I set the vcore to 1.22, and if I raise the fsb to 260, my cpu fails the stress test. I try raising the vcore, but it really dosnt help. I raised it up to 1.4 but no luck. My memory at the moment is only running at about 700 mhz. How can i get this chip to 3.6 ghz. Btw I didnt raise the memory voltage, and have all the energy saving features turned off.
