No man, i dont think its cuz its old, my monitors been having the same exact problem and I just got it a month ago. Its a Samsung 2232 Bw plus, whats yours. Well anyway chances are its a power saving option or something like that.
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you guys I actually did a minor oc on my really old rig. It had an Intel Celeron 330 D running at 2.66 Ghz, and I got it to 3.1 Ghz. Its so far stable according to Prime 95. My cpu temp at idle is around 42c, and at full load right now thanks to Prime 95, is 48 degrees celsius. Im thinking of pushing it further to around 3.4 Ghz, but im not sure on the temps, what do you guys think? Plus my foxxcon mobo has the option to change the fsb, but I cant find anywhere to change the vcore, but i have found it in the utilty program that came with my mobo,so far I havnt had the need to increase but if I do, do you guys think I should increae it from there? Besides that Im using the stock cooler if anyone needs to know. And also I have 1 gig generic ddr ram, and i have it running at a 1:1 ratio with my cpu.
ps - my cpu's multiplier is 20, and my fsb at the moment the moment is 155. And this is also my first overclock, and I wanted to do it on my very old rig, so even if i screw up, i dont lose anything important.
yea ive been reading some, and basically all i have to do is raise the fsb in small numbers and then stress test it right. And then as soon as i hit the fsb wall, I have to raise the voltage right? Besides that what else options must i enable/disable?
hey guys, I just figured I'd practice oc'ing on an old pc for practice before I oc my newgaming pc. The specs of the old rig are as follows.
Intel celeron D 330
foxconn 661mx
512 mb of ram (came with an emachines pc)
With these components, I'm just trying to get a modest overclcok. All i want to go is maybe up .4 ghtz. So if at stock its 2.6, I want it to go to 3. Will I be able to do it with out another cpu cooler?
so which one would be bette?
Hey guys, I was just wondering if a dualcore E8400 stock plus 3.5 gigs of ram would equal an oc'd intel E5200 to about 3.5 GHz plus 6 gigs of ram. I was just wondering?
He yguys, i'v finally got around to buying a gaming pc. here are the specs.
mobo - asus p5q pro
cpu - intel E8400
ram - 2x2 gigs of corsair ram

So i just put it together and installed vista 32 bit which my brother got at his college for 10 bucks legalaly, if your a student, its a discounted price. They werent giving out vista 64 bit.
