I currently have a foxconn destroyer motherboard, which takes DDR2, i have 8GB of low end slow ram, i would like to upgrade but DDR2 is expensive. Should i upgrade my motherboard and get DDR3 instead?

Unfortunately I had the same problem, even with the game patched. I was able to decrease the problem by disabling the ambient occulsion setting (least that's what I think it was called). Didn't completely solve the problem for me, but it made the game playable.

If upgrading drivers doesn't work, then try disabling SLi and run it with a single card. Should be enough to max it out. Thought they fixed the stuttering/choppy issue.
