The DETAILS
HERE IT IS!!!!!
OK not more delays, here it is. I added fan grilles and vinyl decals to give it a final polished look. I am a atomic age junkie and collector so I thought it fitting (and a bit funny) to use this as my design>
ENJOY, Thanks for taking this journey with me, Crysis movies coming as well as Benchmarks.
COLD CATHODE (BLUE AND UV)
Initally I thought about just adding 1 blue cathode light. That quickly got out of control and I ended up with 2 blue and 2 UV. The cold cathode lights are basically little fluorecent tubes. They connect to a molex power cable and then to a switch and finally to the CCL> . I ordered extensions for the CCL wires from FrozenPC. This made it easier to hide the ugly transformer that comes with the kit. These things are really high voltage without the transformer, so DO NOT do any wire splicing yourself.
First I wired up the molex power cables, There were quite a few molex power wires at this point (4 fans 4 cathode tubes) , so I used an empty bay the "hide" these connections.
Next up, was dealing with how to mount a switch on the front panel. It was evident to me that having all 4 CCL's on at the same time was ALOT of light to put out all the time. So I decided to mount the switch for the blue CCL on the front panel. This ment getting out the ol dremel tool and cutting the mesh wire to fit the switch. IT took a bit of time to get this mounted correctly , but in the end it came out fine.
THE FINAL PRODUCT
OK I'm back. I know its been a while. I got a little out of control with the extras. I really tricked out this thing. I ment to only add a few "extras", but it became alot of fun to see what else I could do.
CABLE WRAPS
I went with a spiral cable wrap system, mainly because I did not want to have to sleeve each wire. That would basically mean taking the rig apart again for a sleeve job. The wrap was very flexable and easy to apply. I really think it enhanced the overall look of the system. As far as air flow, I think it makes it a bit cooler, although I only saw about a 2 degree drop after cleaning everything up. Some of the drop may have been due to the ZALMAN fan I added for the hard drive cage. I took the extra time to wire the modem and the router and mount them on the wall. This was tedious work but in the end it really made the cables neat and organized. It doesn't really cost anything.
I used UV cable wrap. More on this later......

Maybe I can help....
Manuals are you best friend, love em. I used my case and MOBO manuals every few minutes. They look like they are 15 years old now.

I do not like Ntune.
I had a great little program for my laptop that showed the GPU and CPU temps right in the task bar. It would also allow you to set fan speeds in real time, and turn them on in off with profile settings. Unfortunatly its only for Dell Laptops.
Anyone get a suggestion for a program like this?
