@uglypinkmoose This is what I'm saying. Nintendo is known for its fun, sometimes simple, games. Yet they constantly rely on the same two-three mascots to do it. Despite the differences between certain Mario titles, they always have a certain Mario feel to them, and they most definitely look the same in terms of graphical style. This statement coming from Miyamoto, of all people, makes the stance sound like a joke.
I just wish Nintendo would create more original IP's. As you said, they most definitely have the potential to do so. The hard truth is that they'd simply rather rely on their 20 year old mascots. Snore.
@ziqi92 Besides, it's not even just Mario and you know it. Zelda, Donkey Kong, Metroid (a little less relevant, but references are references) are just a few examples. Nintendo relies on established franchises and genres just as much as anyone else, so Miyamoto is simply making himself look dumb. Period.
@ziqi92 So if something's a safe bet, you should immediately throw all originality out of the window? As for Capcom, the only reason they're not doing well is because they're greedy as shit and don't appreciate their customers. It has absolutely nothing to do with them ditching Megaman...
Nintendo, if you're going to give advice to the industry as a whole, follow the advice first. I really, really understand what you're trying to say with this, but when it's coming from Nintendo, the company who has solely relied on Mario for the past 23+ years, it's laughable at best.
On the day Microsoft manages to get some brownie points with gamers, Nintendo manages to lose some with silly, stupid comments. Way to go, Nintendo.
My main concern has been, and always will be, the built-in Kinect. However, due to the removal of the always-online policy, much of my concern as been alleviated. This was the big first step Microsoft needed to take in order to correct the massive bullshit they tried to pass by us with the Xbox One. After months of outcry, they finally realize that the only ones defending such awful policies were Xbot's who were loyal to Microsoft regardless, and that anyone who isn't a total sheep would pass over the X1 without a second thought.
@PsychicKiller82 Besides, the whiny crybabies who like to insist that PSN is 'sooo much laggier' than XBL are ill-informed and have no idea what they're talking about. As an owner of both consoles who has done extensive online gaming on both, there is absolutely nothing wrong with PSN. The only time I get consistent lag is when I'm playing with foreigners, and obviously this happens on Xbox as well.
In fact, you referring to the PSN as a 'shit service' at all makes me realize what a fanboy you are.
@sexyeyes79 Notice how none of the Xbot's are commenting on a well-informed comment, about how they're being brainwashed into thinking DRM'd consoles are a good thing. Nope, the X1 is simply a superior machine and we should all buy their console. That's what Microsoft wants, to extend their control into your living room. But keep drinking the Kool-Aid, fanboys.
