In my opinion, this touch-screen fad needs to die out. Touch screens are fine in some places, but not on my gamepad. Why don't these companies understand that? They see all of these people walking around with their iPad's and crap and immediately say "Well, touch screen's are in, obviously we need to incorporate a tablet into our controller." NO, YOU DON'T. Cut it out with the stupid gimmicks and give me a good, sturdy, usable controller, and I will be more than satisfied.
I didn't even read the article. I just have something to say to Sony. Do... NOT... change... the... CONTROLLER. Do you remember how many people absolutely HATED the new PS3 controller's when they were announced? Granted, they were TERRIBLE, but most of the hate stemmed from the fact that Sony was changing the design at all, and they're going to try it again? Sony, you have found immense success in your DualShock controllers. You can say they're not being 'innovative' enough, but guess what? I don't need an LCD touch-screen OR biometric sensors on my gamepad.. just make a DualShock 4, shut up, and TAKE MY MONEY.
It's perfectly understandable why he would be so upset. He made a fairly original mod, only to have the entire idea ripped off by a mediocre developer who made a micro-transaction riddled shell of the same game, and even went as far as to use a nearly identical title. Now, there's people that think Day Z is that 'crappy mod that spawned War Z', or worse, they think Day Z IS The War Z. You have to imagine it from this guy's perspective.. Now, he has to do all of this extra PR work to ensure people understand that Day Z and The War Z are NOT the same product, but no matter how much PR work he puts in, he's still an indie developer and he's still making an indie game.. the likelihood of high sales numbers is unlikely anyway, but now that War Z came along and created so much confusion and distrust amongst indie devs (and zombie sandbox devs in particular), he's definitely losing sales.
But me? I'll pick up the Day Z standalone edition on day one, just to show my support. I feel bad for the guy, he's been put in a crap position and he can't do anything about it.
Gray Fox would've been an incredible choice, definitely much better than Raiden. Granted, Raiden's character developed much better through MGS4 and I'm curious to see the story here, but the opportunity to play as Frank Jaeger would have been absolutely amazing. As a child playing through MGS1, I remember thinking 'Gray Fox is awesome, I wish I could play as him!', and while Raiden would practically be the same character in terms of game mechanics, it's still kind of a shame to know that Gray Fox was preferred, but ultimately scrapped.
But honestly? I just hope Rising isn't the mediocre hack-and-slash I'm expecting it to be.
Does this mean if I were to sell a personal copy of say, Halo 3, to my 15 year old cousin, that I could go to jail for it? It does say 'any person', after all.
@Kaz32 Why in the hell are you comparing a FPS Shooter title to a TPS Survival Horror title? There's no room for comparison, and you desperately clinging onto it the way you are shows how much of a desperate, Resident Evil fanboy you are.
@RTHKI @Nibroc420 @cogadh @Gojomez Honestly, War Z was a lot of fun before you realize that there's hardly nothing to do, and before griefers start blowing your head off from 200 feet away for your flashlight. >.>
Yes, EA is an evil, evil company, that do all sorts of shady things on a regular basis. I get that. But guess what? This isn't one of those things. Before you post into this with blind fanboy rage, ask yourself a question.. do you play any of these games, today? In fact, DID you play any of these games, EVER? I doubt it. Most of these games are '09-'10.
Why pay for servers on games that no one will play? I agree that private servers would be preferable, but who do you know that's willing to go through the trouble of setting up a private server for, say, FIFA Soccer 2011 or NHL '11? Exactly, no one cares, which is why they're shutting down the online services.
@scottenman2005 @3v1LR0n1N I'll admit that the first Battlefield I played was BC2, but since we're talking comparisons into BF3, I'll throw my hat in the ring and say that BF3 is 'okay'. I played a good 60-70 hours of multiplayer, and while I had a lot of fun, it felt as though they took BC2 and cheapened it, in a lot of ways.
