I don't the PS3 has hit a game yet that it can be wholly indetified with. I'm sure when MGS4 comes out that'll be it. Resistance right now I think is the closest, but it depends on who you ask.

The browser has some limits. It'll play most Youtube stuff (flash enabled), but not it won't play specific quicktime or WMV files. This leaves out over half of its web video abilities. It should be able to download MP3s. provided that the site doesn't use the lastest version of flash of Java, as the ps3 would only install the lastest versions of these through firmware updates, which don't always seem up to date either.

I say do not rely on the PS3 to be your sole web browser. A home computer is much more versitile and capable. However if you opt to run Linux thru your PS3 this can be a much different story, but a much more complicated one.

MGS was always a little punishing for being spotted. Sometimes I've spent half the time in levels hiding under the same desk just to wait for the evasion timer to go down. Looks like MGS4 is gonna give a little mare versatility to sneaking around. hopefully I can avoid that having to evade a little more.

I had a feeling this would happen that the Bluray buyers would get the game a day late. Game stores rarely get the game on the actual release day. They should change this system. I was kindof hoping the online wouldn't be out till Thursday but the Sony newsletter I got said it will be downloadable today.

Ok both sides of the ps3/360 war have thier pious fanboys touting and screaming at eachother that their system is better. What I'd like to know is: Why are the 360 fanboys much angrier than the PS3 fanboys? Thumbing through these forums for a while now its usually the 360 fanboys who put down, mock, insult, flame, whatever more, alot of times with no substantial backing as to what necessitates these anger powered rants.

Sure its a known fact that the XBL player has been seasoned for more than a few years in the art of smack talk, but a nerve is definately hit when the issue of the PS3 comes up. My theory evolves from the notion that anger is a symptom of one feeling threatened.

Its been well established by many that the future balance between the 360 and the PS3 will be a role reversal of how thier older counterparts fared last gen. The XBOX was technically better but took a few years to really shine through with this. But even with the XBOX having some higher quality shiny games it still lost to the PS2's large install base and shear number and variety of decent games.

As a PS3 owner I know this is probably going to be the future of this system that it'll never "beat " the 360. I've accepted it and don't care. Last gen I bought an XBOX instead of a PS2 and didn't care the PS2 was the popular platform. I was just extremely happy that the games I did have with the XBOX were super awesome top notch games.

So now if it is becoming established that the PS3 will finally have its heyday like how the XBOX did back in the day this brings me back to my theory. 360 fanboys are just as aware of this trend to happen with the PS3 and are afraid it'll encroach into their 360 only happy universe. They are threatened and become the angry fanboys they are. Still why should they be angry if it seems accepted that they'll stay on top regardless of how well the ps3 will do?

Will Unreal Tournament 3 have a cover system? And if we buy the Playstation 3 copy will we get the ability to create maps/mods somehow (maybe something we can install onto our pc or something idk)?luggymeister

Last I heard the devs are working on a map editor that'll work on the PS3. Epic is proud to be pushing cross pc/PS3 map editing and modding. If someone on a pc makes a mod any ps3 owner can also download it and play it the same.

I preordered it today at Ebgames. The guy working told me that the retail version isent Bluray disk, but it comes with somthing and you use it to install Warhawk onto the PS3. He said a Bluray version will be coming soon but this one is still a good deal because of the headset.

On these forums, i heard that the retail version is a Bluray disk? WHICH IS IT?

Haseokicksass

Somehow you just got me confused on this since my assumed size of Warhawk may not mean the need of bluray capacity. Still I expect it to be bluray. Your EB guy must be badly communicating the fact that it is also downloadable. The retail version installs what is basically the same thing you get if you downloaded it, with a few extra features for networked PS3s and then also a headset is included. You cannot preorder the download, and I haven't seen any mention of there being newer versions of the retail coming at later dates. I'm sure any updates to the software will be done while online.

It doesn't have amazing intense action, but the subdued etherreal and hypnotic nature of this game has made it a returning play for me when I get home really late, and am really tired, I want to play something but nothing that means having to get into all being pumped up for. This game is great to zone out to since the gameplay is so simple it kindof goes into a stream of concience feel. Kindof like yoga for gamers. It has its place but will put you to sleep if you are looking for action. Still its has a good price and I think it should be in a gamers collection since you never know when its trance like style of gameplay may be the only thing to fit those days you may just want to chill out.
