Well.. I haven't WASTED any money.. but the purchase I was most pissed about was the wireless adapter. I was under the misconception that the Elite came with wireless built in, but I was sadly dissapointed. I understood I had to buy an adapter, but it ticked me off that I had to buy the wireless adapter separately when the Wii and PS3 have it included. I will say though that it is MUCH more convenient to not have to have my gaming console right next to the router.

I played for years the REGULAR game systems (GC, Xbox, PS2) on an old SD Samsung tv. When I got my new 36" Samsung HDTV and upgraded all the game cords, there was a significant difference in terms of visual quality, with the widescreen and the sharpened detail. I just got a 360 Elite (using HDMI), and while I don't have any 360 games yet (I just dropped nearly $600 for all this, I need a reprieve!) from what I've seen in demos and such I can't imagine how the games would look on SD. I mean, for what you're throwing down for this system, to play a game like Gears of War or even the sports games in SD seems like a sin. Its not like a Wii (which I also have) where there really isn't that significant of a difference between SD and... ummm.. its HDTV setting (Which is basically a widescreen 480p.) Also, for those of you like me who thought that the Wii was the way to go and that if you have an advanced computer you don't really NEED a 360, that is bull. The Wii I've decided is the greatest ACCESSORY system to have, since its so cheap, and gives you games that you really can't get on other consoles. Anyways to get off the Wii praising, the 360 from what I can tell is a good investment, and it really does behoove anyone who is still on SD to make the upgrade if it is possible. HDTVs are cheaper nowadays, and many stores will give you decent deals if you have good credit.

I just got an Xbox 360 Elite. I have it hooked up to my Samsung 36" HDTV via the HDMI cable. The stuff looks great, but it seems like the sound is like a half second behind the visual action. It seems to do this on games and videos as well. Has anyone else experienced this same issue?

[QUOTE="inyourface_12"]dude i dont see why you would need more than 20 gigs on a 360 but w/eRedphazon2

Music, game demos, movies (It's impossible to only have 20 gigs worth of those things when there are so many more things to come out).

Yeah... Demos are a big thing for me..do they usually cost money or are they free?

On another topic I"ll just be glad to get a Xbox that works better. My current one has problems with Halo 2.. and sometimes it takes upwards of 10 attempts for it to boot up properly. I don't like having to wait when I have a Halo 2 cravin..

coming from a guy who doesn't have an HD tv and who only uses his 360 4 games only, i would say get the pro cuz look at it, if u don't have a hdtv/or don't plan 2 in the near future HDMI is totally USELESS, and games saves (only) do not take up 20 gigs yet (trust me i know from experience) so 2 answer ur question from a soley gamers point of view w/o a hdtv no u don't need an eliteermacness
Well that's the thing.. I have an HDTV that is about to be replaced because of geometry issues, and I must say that I have seen the light of HDTV.. and I will do whatever it takes to take full advantage of it.

I am doing the research here. As I said, I know little to nothing about the 360s, so I figured going to a forum that talks exclusively about Xbox 360 might be a good place to start. Yes, on paper the Elite looked like a better bargain, but I'm not looking to spend any extra money that I don't need to or that will not benefit me greatly later.
