If you go to the xbox.com they have troubleshooting tips there, and i remember the problem that you say was one of the common ones with many different troubleshooting steps. You should look there, but i dont know how helpful they may be.
The odds are in your favor, one thing that you can do to check is shine a flash light through the back of the 360, if you see copper then you don't, but if you don't see copper, then you have a falcon, at least that's what i've been told.
Do you like racing games? Most of them have good, long campaigns. I have played Forza 2, and PGR 3 and they have been great. I ahve heard good things about burnout and PGR 4.
I just got a brand new replacement 360, manufactured Nov. 9, 2007. Since it didn't come in the original packaging is their any other way i can tell if its 175W?
