That part got to me too. I hate when game developers do that. They put checkpoints before the talking. A couple other games do it too but I can't think of them right away. How hard is it to put the checkpoint right after they finish talking? Anyways, I ended up turning off my speakers until I finally beat that part.

Well, if your one year warranty is up, then you are outta luck on free repairs unless you get the RROD and then you will be covered. You could try using a different position for your 360. Such as if you have it vertical try it horizontal, and vice versa. Microsoft has used many different disc drives so different ones act differently.

Yep, most places don't charge very much to buff them. Like $2 per disc for my local store. I think that is your best option.
