Dragon's Dogma - Monster Guide ( Fixed )

Goblins
Threat Level : Low
Weakness : Fire / Ice

Goblins are by far one of the weakest lot in the game - though they would still pose quite a threat in the earlier stages when your still weak and scrawny.

Whilst not significantly dangerous , they can be quite annoying - there are various types of attack style for goblins , some would attack you head-on , others bears a shield , some may pelt flasks of oil or rocks and some may even blow a horn to summon their comrades.

Killing off the horn-blower is your top priority - note that their leaders tends to wear a helmet and is the toughest to kill.

Hobgoblins
Threat Level : Low
Weakness : Fire / Ice

Hobgoblins are like Goblins - except their slightly bigger and tougher.

Same strategies applies though note that they won't go down quite as easily as a common goblin.

Grimgoblin
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Fire / Ice

Grimgoblins are the strongest variation of Goblins - their the meanest and most dangerous - difficult to knockback , comes in large groups and tends to enjoy stepping on their victims the moment they fling them over.

Their significantly tougher compared to it's cousins and their much more difficult to knockback , which means dodging and careful attacks are elementary in a battle against Grimgoblins.
Still , compared to most of the "advanced" foes in the game , their at the bottom of the mound.

Wolves
Threat Level : Low
Weakness : Fire

Wolves are one of the tougher advesaries you would encounter early on in your journey.
Fast , nimble and fairly brutal , they can prove difficult to hit for one wielding solely a blade in their hands.

Wolves would also howl to alert their pack of your presence.
It is wise to let the wolf attack first , block or dodge it , then strike back - or simply shoot at it if your using magic or a bow.

Direwolves
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Fire

Direwolves are found around the northen borders of Gransys and their a lot more tougher than the common wolves.

At earlier levels , you may find them highly resistant to attacks and fire may be needed to ensure a smoother victory.
They share a common tactic with the wolves but it is not unlikely to find a very large pack of Direwolves , making them rather dangerous for Mages whom have low Defense ratings.

Hellhounds
Threat Level : High
Weakness : Ice

Hellhounds - as their name suggests , are fire breathing hounds whom are the strongest variation of the wolf strain.

Hardy , powerful and breathes fire across a distance - they prove to be quite dangerous for both ranged and melee characters alike.
Using icy attacks would damage them faster and ensure a quicker success in your encounter with them.

It is to be noted that their rather difficult to knockdown and whilst they do bear a similar moveset to their wolven cousins , note that they DO have the ability to breathe fireballs.

Skeletons / Skeleton Mages / Skeleton Sorcerers
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Holy / Blunt attacks

Skeletons are commonly found in crypts , in the depths of the night and various other location in Gransys.

Their particularly weak against blunt attacks - which means hammers or maces would make quick work of these walking bones.
Note that there are Skeleton Sorcerers and Mages - whom does have the capabilities to cast a variety of spells which can prove annoying when your fighting a large mob of monsters - though they are certainly easy enough to kill.

Skeleton Knights
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Holy / Blunt attacks

Their like the skeleton - but more hardy and bears a blade to boot.
It's advisable to strike their backs and likewise - use a holy or blunt weapon against them for a quick victory.

Skeleton Lords
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Holy / Blunt attacks

Skeleton Lords are significantly more dangerous than any of the other frail bones which walks across the plains of Gransys.

They bear a moveset remniscent of a Mystic Knight - being able to conjure up a magic barrier with their shields and is quite a threat from close-medium range combat.

It is , once again , advisable to round up behind them or block their strikes - then strike back.

Saurians
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Fire

Saurians are lizardmen whom resides near rivers.
They can prove to be quite a threat early on in the game owing to their hardy nature - though that can be easily remedied by slicing off it's tail , which would significantly weaken the beast.

Sulfur Saurian
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Fire

Similar to the Saurians but slightly tougher , have a different appearance and can turn "invisible" at will.

The strategy to kill them is quite similar to the Saurian.

Geo Saurian
Threat Level : Medium -
Weakness : Ice

Their , generally speaking , like the Sulfur Saurians but a lot tougher in general.

The strategy is generally the same but you may want to use ice instead.

Saurian Sage
Threat Level : High
Weakness : Ice

Probably one of the most annoying critters I've come across.
Their highly resistant to physical trauma and knockbacks - which makes slicing the tail off a fundamental act to destroy the beast.
Furthermore , they can heal themselves.

However , on the upside , I found them rather easy to freeze and this could make victory a lot easier as a whole - it's also recommended to hold them down for your allies to finish it off or vice versa.

Undead / Undead Warriors
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Holy / Fire

Undeads and Undead Warriors - the latter is tougher than the former but their pretty much the same.

Use fire or holy attacks and you'd make quick work of them - they can be annoying as they may attempt to bite the player.

Stout Undead
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Holy / Fire

Well , their like any Undead - except it's horizontally challenged and blows up if lighted with fire.
The explosion can be advantageous if used well and the explosion may chain if there is yet another Stout Undead within the radius of explosion within the other Stout Undead.

Giant Undead
Threat Level : Medium -
Weakness : Holy / Fire

Compared to the other blighters in the Everfall , Giant Undeads are little more than annoying.

They are slow , may attempt to tackle you down from time to time or grapple you like some common zombie - their just a lot bigger and tougher than a common zombie but that's it.

Just burn them or smite them with holy might.

Harpies
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Fire

Harpies can be rather dangerous if your fighting them near cliffs - since they wouldn't hestitate to pick you off and drop you at the cliffside.

However , they can be easily shot down - or you can wait for them to attack before striking with your blade.

Note that their songs would lull you to sleep.

Snow Harpy
Threat Level : Low +
Weakness : Fire

Snow Harpies generally appear alongside Direwolves - like the Harpies , they can lull you to sleep but their also tougher and can breathe icy breaths to turn you into a frozen statue.

The same battle strategy applies for a Snow Harpy.

Succubi
Threat Level : Medium +
Weakness : Holy

Succubi are the most annoying lot in the Harpy strain - though since when did a succubus resemble a harpy in folklore is something beyond me.

Anyways , these annoying blighters would deal plenty of debiliations to you - instead of lulling you to sleep with their songs , their songs would , however , inflict a large variety of status ailments upon you.

They may also attempt to bite you - which would also deal a random status ailment of either strength loss , defense loss , magick loss or magick defense loss - you get the idea.

Gargoyles
Threat Level : High
Weakness : Blunt attacks

Gargoyles are dangeous foes - particularly because of their ability to petrify their prey.

Using a blunt weapon would make quick work of this stony blighters.
Just avoid it when it swoops down , the tail is the source of petrification.

Phantasms / Spectres
Threat Level : High -
Weakness : Holy

Phantasms are spirits - Spectres are spirits which sparkles electricity - which makes drenching yourself a bad idea when your fighting the latter.

Phantasms and Spectres are very dangerous as possessed allies can not free themselves and the Spectre would cling onto you until you die or remedy the situation through a Curative or have an ally dislodge it for you.

Their immune to physical attacks unless when their taking hold of a victim or if the weapon in question is enchanted with magick.

Ogres
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Lightning

Well , Lightning isn't "really" a weakness but it's very useful in your battle against an Ogre since their susceptibile to electrocution - just by spamming lightning attacks may ground it on the spot.

Their one of the toughest advesaries early on in the game and it is not unlikely that they may kill you in one blow if angered.

Note that Ogres prioritizes women when their NOT ENRAGED - if they are angered , they would start attacking just about anyone.

Also , take care when climbing it's back , it may flip over and pancake you.

Cyclops
Threat Level : Low+
Weakness : Lightning

Well , Cyclops are a bit of a joke really , just aim for it's eye and voila , victory is at hand.
Like the Ogre , their very susceptibile to lightning attacks.

Note that some Cyclops may be armored and they may bear a helm - to remove the helmet , simply climb onto it's back and leap off the moment it tries to grab you - the Cyclops would remove it's own helm , leaving it's eye vulnerable to attacks.

Clinging onto the leg of the Cyclops may cause it to topple and striking the weapon arm may disarm it - though it is particularly effective with lightning attacks.

Golems
Threat Level : Low+
Weakness : Blunt attacks

Golems are near-impossible to kill for Mage/Sorcerer characters - melee is the only way to hurt it.
There are blue medals located around it's body - strike those to kill it.
It is advisable to aim for the medals on the hand first since it's usually covered up most of the time - and the one at the bottom of it's feet if you managed to topple it over by striking it's other magick medals.

Metal Golems
Threat Level : High
Weakness : Physical attacks

Like the Golem , it's near-impossible to kill with magic and even more so with solely a sword since it's powered by seven magick medal spread throughout the room - two of them being elevated in the air.

It is advisable to bring a bow-user in your party should you wish to confront this monster - it is to be noted that it is also a lot faster than a common Golem and it would prove a brutal foe.

Chimera / Gorechimera
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Gorechimera's Lion Head is weak against ice

The Chimera and Gorechimera bears similar combat patterns - but naturally , the Gorechimera is more advanced in terms of moveset and spells.

For the common Chimera , it is advisable to take out the Lion head with strong magick first to weaken it's physical prowess , then take out the snake and finally the goat.

For the Gorechimera however , it may be advisable to take out the Goat first owing to it's healing capabilities , then the Lion then the Snake - though if you have a powerful Sorcerer in your team , it doesn't really matter since a single blow can easily kill the Chimera.

Hydras
Threat Level : High
Weakness : Blades / Fire

It's weakness isn't really fire but the moment you slice of it's heads , you must seal the wound with fire to stop it's head from coming back that quickly.

It's advisable to use a Mage with Fire Affinity or a Fire enchanted weapon into the fight - once all the heads are severed , you can then deal a large amount of damage to the beast by striking it's decapitated necks and thus , sealing an easy victory.

Archhydras
Threat Level : High
Weakness : Blades / Fire

Like the Hydra - but a lot stronger and seems to be somewhat resistant to holy attacks - the Archhydra requires a similar strategy for it's defeat.
Whilst it may appear menancing at first , once you've sliced off all it's head with the same strategy , it would become an easy kill.

Griffins
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Fire

Griffins can be annoying since they would retreat the moment their health is low - but it can be easily remedied by clinging onto the Griffin and burning it's wings.

Griffins can also be lured down by the sight of dead foes - you may use dead bandits , dead goblins and pretty much dead anything to lure them.

Cockatrices
Threat Level : High
Weakness : Fire

Likewise , you may want to attack the wings to affect it's flight but note that the Cockatrice is capable of breathing petrification breaths - which makes it very dangerous if you lack the Curtative or Resistance for this beast.

It may also poison you with it's talons.

It is advisable to strike it's expanded chest the moment it tries to spit out it's petrification attacks and strike the wings the moment it takes flight - the head is also a good spot to hit.

Vile Eyes
Threat Level : Low

Vile Eyes are like Evil Eyes - but their a lot smaller and weaker.
Just wait for it to prepare a spell - the barrier would be lowered and you can kill it rather quickly.

Evil Eyes
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Holy

Evil Eyes are fairly easy to kill despite the amount of experience it gives - first of all , kill all of the tentacles you see sprouting from the ground - when it's Barrier is lowered , you would then strike the tentacles on it's body to destabalize it - then finally , strike the exposed eyeball to finish it for good.

I can't be certain but powerful Magick seems to be able to penetrate it's barrier.

Note that the Evil Eye is capable of dishing out debalitations as well.

Wights / Liches
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Holy

Wights and Liches are pretty much undead sorcerers on steroids - they can fly , intone nasty spells and summon dead minions to fight by their side.

Whilst it is in flight , it is difficult to damage so you might want to clear off the minions first to let it alight on the ground - by then , it's defenses would've dramatically lowered as it tries to summon a new batch of undeads.
Use that limited amount of time to deal as much damage as you can against it.

Drakes
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Ice

Common Drakes can be found in the Devilfire Grove - and they can be found in various other locations in the Post-game scenario.

Their weak against Ice attacks and you can easily break their wings , horn and damage their heart with a powerful Ice Magick.
Note that their heart is located on their chest - which would allow you to deal the most damage.
It's also one of the earliest dragons you would meet in the game.

Wyrm
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Lightning?

Much like the Drake but have a higher diversity of spells and breathes ice instead of fire.

Wyvern
Threat Level : Medium
Weakness : Fire

Edit : ( Just found out it's weakness ) - but this Wyvern emits lightning strikes and it's heart is located on it's back , causing this dragon strain to take a slightly longer time to kill compared to the Drake and Wyrm.

Note that it's can curse you.

The Dragon
Threat Level : High -
Weakness : Ice

The Dragon is weak against Ice attacks and it's much like the Drake - except it's bigger , a lot stronger and bears a nasty attitude.
Still , a powerful Ice Magick straight into it's heart could easily knock out a fair portion of it's health.

Ur-Dragon
Threat Level : Extremely High
Weakness : Holy

Holy is the only thing which works for the Ur-Dragon and it is advisable to use the Assassin for the Online Ur-Dragon.
It is to be noted that dying ( Even with Wakestones ) , retreating or fleeing with a Ferrystone would regenerate it's health.

The offline Ur-Dragon can be easily defeated in any other Vocation - particularly the Hybrid Vocations which would allow you to defeat it quite easily.

Though it is to be noted that Mages and Sorcerers would be quite useless against this beast since it can only be damaged by hitting it's weak spots and that it is quite resistant to all elements save Holy attacks.

Dragon's Dogma - Personal Starter Guide

Well , I've just completed my first playthrough and slain a couple of Ur-Dragons so I think I can draft a guide for those whom have not got things rolling yet.

Vocations

Essentially the Job System in this game.
There are three basic Vocations , three Advanced Vocations and three Hybrid Vocations which is available only to the Arisen.

Fighter

Pros

o High Melee advantage
o Bears a shield

Cons

o Helpless against Ranged attacks
o Low growth in Magic Defense and Magick

Strider

Pros

o Melee and Ranged potential
o Capable of fighting on various grounds and scenarios
o Generally focused on Stamina growth
o Generally the best Basic Vocation for grabbing onto the back of foes

Cons

o Does not excel in ranged combat like the Mage nor melee combat like the Fighter
o Moderate growth in various fields

Mage

Pros

o Powerful Magicks and Healing spells
o High Magick and Magick Defense growth

Cons

o Heavily dependant on Magick
o Low HP and Defense growth
o Very vulnerable to physical strikes

Warrior

Pros

o Powerful sweeping moves capable of dealing with mobs
o Significant growth of melee-based stats

Cons

o Slow
o Some strikes leaves you quite vulnerable
o Does not bear a shield
o Weak against fast moving targets

Ranger

Pros

o Powerful ranged attacks
o Shares the same growth potential as the Strider

Cons

o Weaker melee potential compared to the Strider
o Somewhat dependant on Skills

Sorceror

Pros

o Wields extremely powerful Magicks
o SHares the same growth potential as the Mage

Cons

o Does not bear the same diversity of Support Spells like the Mage
o Late bloomer
o Heavily dependant on Magicks

Mystic Knight

Pros

o Utilizes the use of a Mace or a Sword along with a Kite Shield
o Generally moderate Magick Growth and Strength Growth ( Magick Growth is higher )
o An array of useful support and buff skills

Cons

o Rather dependant on Magick to improve attack capabilities
o Slow but balanced Growth

Assassin

Pros

o Utilizes an array of physical weapons
o Utilizes an array of counter-based moves
o Generally high damage

Cons

o Somewhat lower growth in the Defense sector
o Takes a bit of skill to use compared to the other Vocations

Magick Archer

Pros

o Utilizes a unique Magick Bow which locks on to Targets
o Fairly powerful if used well

Cons

o Fairly reliant on Magick Skills and capabilities
o Lock-On can get fairly annoying at times - Manual aiming may be preferable.
o Slower firing rate

Earning Money

Well , earning money isn't hard in the Second Playthrough but is a considerable feat in your first playthrough in the world of Dragon's Dogma.

Visiting dangerous areas could be well worth the effort as it oft yields potential rewards and materials but if you don't mind taking things slow , killing animals for materials is an alternative.
Generally , I would advise grinding for money around the Northern part of the land - specifically the Tower where you would face a Boss monster as it oft yields an assortment of high-priced equipment.

Though at later part of the game , as more dangerous areas is opened to you , those become a better lair of treasures and riches as a whole but on your Second Playthrough , the Optional Boss is the best target for money as each battle could easily earn you 500,000 Gold even in Offline Mode - 1 Million Gold if your playing on Online Mode and can bear to depart with the Weapons and Armor you found as a reward.

=====================================================================

Growth

It is to be noted that the benefits Leveling up would be adjusted accordingly to the current Vocation of your character.

For example , a Warrior Vocation would yield a higher Strength Growth whilst a Sorceror would yield a higher Magick Growth - the Level Cap of the game is 200 but growth would slow down by the time you've reached Level 100.

Trying to keep things balanced ( As in switching between various Vocations ) would drastically increase your capabilities in various fields but you would deal significantly less damage than characters whom focuses solely on a single field.
Personally , I advise in trying to keep your defenses up by training both your Pawn and your character in various Vocations.

It is to be noted that Hybrid Vocations is only available to the Arisen and they provide a BALANCED GROWTH - it is better to switch back and forth between the Basic and Advanced Vocations for Stats at the earlier part of the game.

If you follow these instructions , you would deal less damage compared to most other players but would have significantly higher overall defense as a whole - both your Pawn and yourself could take quite the beating and a powerful Overall Stat is useful for Hybrid Vocations or have an unexpectedly sturdy Mage with lots of Stamina to use in the party.

======================================================================

Ultimate Weapons and Armor

The best weapon drops comes from the Optional Boss in the game - which is not available till you've reached near the conclusion of the game or the Second Playthrough - where you can find a Riftstone in Cassardis which leads you to the beast.

The monster drops the best weapons and armor though obtaining them is a considerable feat since the Optional Boss would not fall without a fight - particularly if your playing via Online Connection and the fight would literally take hours.

The rewards , however , are great - you would be gifted powerful Holy Weapons and the Abyssimal Armor set - an armor which bears the highest Defense , Magick Defense and Debilitation resistance in the game but offers no Damage advantage.

It is to be noted that every playthrough , when facing the Second Last Boss , depending on the weapons you use - you would be awarded a powerful weapon of that variety once you have defeated the boss.
It is , however , easily bested by the rewards obtained found by defeating the Optional Boss.

It is to be noted that powerful equipment can also be procured near the conclusion of the game in the Everfall where a Merchant would sell expensive gear - whilst not the best , they would keep you going for a while.

======================================================================

Warnings of Leveling Up

It's something I've learnt in my first playthrough - apparently your enemies grows stronger along with you.
Whilst enemies in Gransys itself is far from being trouble , if you enter the Everfall near the conclusion of the game with abnormally high level but poor gear , you would find yourself struggling against certain foes in the area.

So in other words , higher level means better equipment.

=======================================================================

Beastiary

Goblins

o Comes in packs
o Size does matter with goblins - the larger they are , the nastier they are
o Their weak against Fire and Ice damage

o Danger level varies just like the Bandit
o Weak against maces and hammers
o It's back is vulnerable
o Usually appears during the night or in crypts

Phantasms

o Quite dangerous and if it possesses you , it could be quite the hassle.
o Invulnerable against physical attacks - magick or enchanted weapons is a must
o Note that all undead creatures are weak against Holy Magick

Cyclops

o One of the weakest Boss figures in the game
o You can strike their feet to knock them down
o You can strike their weapon arm to knock the club out of their hands
o You can clamber on it's back to trick it into removing it's Helmet
o If it is armored or green-skinned , it will be significantly more difficult to kill
o Be wary when fighting against it on cliffsides as it can easily swoop you down the mountain
o It's eye is it's weakness

Ogres

o Their a lot smaller compared to a Cyclops - but also far more lethal
o Extremely hardy and dangerous , it is difficult to kill them at lower levels
o It is best if you clamber onto their back to kill them - but note that they will fight back by flipping over
o They will go after women first
o It's advisable to use Lightning spells to stun it and render it incapable of fighting back
o Make use of any explosive barrels you find

Chimera

o Tough but relatively easy on higher levels
o Dangerous as it is capable of a variety of attacks with three different heads
o The serpent would deal poison damage and defend it's back so kill it first
o It is advisable to kill the Lion with powerful Magicks soon after that since an Enraged Lion is very dangerous
o The Goat uses a variety of elemental Spells but it is best to leave it last despite what the AI says

Griffin

o Capable of flight and is quite dangerous
o It is best to use Magic or a Bow against this foe - aim for the wings should it take flight
o It is prone to escape if you knock out one or two bars of it's health - hit the wings to halt it's escape
o Can be lured down by the sight of corpses

Cockatrice

o A very dangerous foe capable of petrifying your team - which leads to instant death if left untreated
o It's recommended that you stand clear should it start puffing out black clouds
o It's talons yields poison so it is wise stand clear of it's claws
o It's advisable to fight with a bow.

Drake

o A dragon easily found in Devilfire Grove - steer clear if your level is too low
o It's sole weak point is the heart but you can strike the head to break the horns or the wings to break it's flight
o Very dangerous at lower levels
o Shares similar movesets with the other Dragons in the game but pales in comparison to them

Hydra

o A multi-headed snake susceptible to slashing based damage
o Climbing and slashing it is recommended

The Dragon

o Well , it's mainly cutscene based but in actual battles , you have to hit the heart.
o Using Vocations which is capable of swift and efficient attacks would make your life significantly easier

Evil-Eye

o Take out the tentacles first to remove it's barrier
o Strike at the eye as that is it's weakness

Hellhounds

o Similar to Wolve and Direwolves - but their a lot stronger and they breath fire
o A lot larger as a whole - their threat comes not from speed but it's raw firepower

Wraith

o A ghastly apparition which is weak against Holy attacks
o Quite easy to deal with once your used to it's attack patterns
o Note that it mainly uses spells for it's attacks

Succubi

o Similar to the Harpy but it's scream can deal a variety of troublesome Status Ailments
o Generally , you'd use the same combat tactics against them as with a Harpy
o Naturally , it's a lot stronger as a whole

Saurian

o Generally resides near rivers or water sources
o Tough - but the tail is vulnerable and it weakens the moment it's tail is severed
o Susceptible to fire attacks

Geo-Saurian

o A lot tougher than the Saurian
o Striking the tail is a must

Black Chimera

o A lot stronger than the Chimera but the tactics is still the same

Ur-Dragon

o A very powerful foe which can only be damaged by hitting the glowing parts of the beast.
o It is inadvisable to deal with it with non-Holy weapons and weak armor
o It is the strongest foe in the game
o It is advisable to fight it in Offline Mode first - procure the Holy weapons then move on to the Online Mode

???

o Well , I ain't giving out spoilers but either way , this is gonna be an easier battle compared to the Dragon.
o This dude is the last boss
o He mainly uses melee attacks so it's wise not to use a Mage Vocation

=============================================================================

Any questions you have - shoot - can't say I have all the answers though , since I'm still exploring certain areas I've missed out.

Notes : Well , I'm lazy so I'll just get straight to the point. Tesla Beaton Prototype is stronger but have a slower rate of fire - I personally recommend the Tesla Beaton Prototype and it can be found in the Crashed Vertibird.
Elijah's version is an Old World Blues DLC and is found in Elijah's Watch.

= Explosives ( Projectiles ) =

Great Bear Grenade Rifle
Notes : Again , laziness strikes. Red Victory Grenade Rifle have a higher DPS rate but I consider it a waste of expensive Grenade rounds - so use this one instead.
It's a Lonesome Road DLC so if you don't have it , use Thump Thump instead - it can be found in Nellis Array.

Mercy
Notes : Found in Dead Wind Cavern - a powerful Grenade Machinegun but is equally hard to get since it's guarded by tons of Deathclaws

Anabelle
Notes : A powerful version of the Missile Launcher found on the Black Mountain - it's equipped by the Super Mutant on the sniper post.

Red Glare
Notes : A Rocker Launcher found in Lonesome Road. It doesn't deal as much damage as the Anabelle and it uses Rocket Rounds instead - but it does have a nutty DPS rate.

= Unarmed =

Two-Step Goodbye
Notes : A GRA DLC weapon and probably the most powerful Unarmed Weapon in the game. It provides additional Critical Damage and enemies will blow up upon death - which is both a form of benefit and problem since the damage can hurt you or your allies.
It's sold in the GRA store.

= Bladed =

Blood-Nap
Notes : Whilst not a remarkable toe-to-toe weapon , this knife does increase Sneaking capabilities and have a powerful Critical Factor - making it the perfect sneaking weapon in the game.
It is a Lonesome Road weapon and can only be obtained after preventing the Warhead strike in Courier's Mile.

Gehenna
Notes : A very powerful version of the Shishkebab - and a GRA weapon.

Protonic Inversal Axe
Notes : 'Tis sad but true , most decent melee weapons are DLCs.
This is found in Old World Blues - in the Cuckoo's Nest , carried by one of the Lobotomites.
It's a very powerful EMP melee based weapon and is still stronger than most Bladed weapons when using it on normal enemies.

= Blunt =

Oh Baby!
Notes : Found in Charlestone Cave - it's a fairly powerful Super Sledge.

Old Glory
Notes : It can be found after killing Ulysses in Lonesome Road or in the rewards footlocker after the DLC is completed.
Whilst it doesn't deal quite as much base DMG as the Oh Baby! , it does have a bonus Critical rate.

X2- Antenna
Notes : An Old World Blues weapon which is an EMP Blunt Weapon.
It's a quest item and I would prefer that you use the Protonic Inversal Axe.

Recruitment is going fairly well

I've managed to gather up quite a team - though annoyingly enough I'm still short on programmers and artists.

Otherwise , the project is going quite smoothly as a whole - I'm quite surprised by how enthusiastic people are to be honest.

Gathering Visual Novel members

Well , I'm intending on starting a Visual Novel project ( Something like Katawa Shoujo - but I'd fix the theme and plot accordingly to the general wishes of the members provided that I ACTUALLY managed to find a team - so far I've secured one programmer and one musician )

I'm hoping that I can get some help , I'm gonna need aid in all fields such as music , CGs ( Which is painfully empty at the moment ) , story planning ( I'm handling the story but one's idea is never perfect alone ) and programming ( I think having solely one programmer would probably end up killing him )

ACTA , SOPA and PIPA - Darn them all!

Well , SOPA is gone but PIPA was stalled.

Here's the video to explain ACTA ( Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=citzRjwk-sQ

... and the one explaining PIPA ( Protect Internet IP Act ) and SOPA ( Stop Online Piracy Act )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6_lkFxTl5w

Essentially , as long as these idiots remains at our helm , there is no end to idiocy and tyranny.

Ron Paul for President

I may not be American - but I have done extensive research of his speeches across Youtube and undoubtedly - he is fighting for what is right for America and this would eventually lead to a positive impact on the rest of the world.

For one , Ron Paul of a right idea on governance. The state , the laws , the government itself ought not to be intervening into the personal habits and the liberty of the people.
America was known as the land of liberty. Where the people's lives were not affected by federal laws which contradicts this "freedom" in question.
A government exists to protect and guide the people - but not control them as they see fit.

Plenty of money was squandered on pointless wars as well.
America has intervened in many wars which does not affect them in an adverse way - trying to police the affairs of others across the globe and building up bases across countries and nations - this in turn causes the country to squander a large amount of money and in turn , America have to loan money from foreign countries to sustain an empire which they CAN NOT afford to maintain in the first place.

He had also made a fine point on the terrorist attacks - America was not attacked because it was free and prosperous - it was attacked because of American influence within THEIR country.
Foreign military influence on one's homeland would be one of the worst things that could happen to a country so it is of little wonder to think that there would be people fighting back for their homes and beliefs.

He had also mentioned the various reasons for the country's economical decline and in many ways , his honesty and quick thinking really makes him a suitable candidate to be the President of America.

Personal Best of 2011

Topic title.

= Gods Eater Burst ( Action Award )

= Description =

Gods Eater.
Playing this game is like taking a roller coaster ride.
It's fun at first , then it gets boring - then the fun kicks in once more.
Despite the painful limitations in the variety of monsters - this game made it's mark with it's combat system and unique gameplay.

= Kidou Senshi Gundam : Extreme Vs ( Fighter Award ) =

= Description =

Unlike the other painful Gundam games we had to face for the past few decades , Extreme VS has proved to be an exceptional fighter - featuring major improvements from it's predecessor , Next Plus.
Online battles may prove brutal as you face off opponents of exceptional skill and reflexes - making this game one of the most challenging sorts I've ever came across.

= Total War : Shogun 2 ( Strategy Award ) =

= Description =

Total War Shogun has brought back the familiar gameplay of more realistic strategy game where even the terrain would affect the performance of your troops.
It's impressively made - with equally impressive graphics.
The brightest of all strategists can even win a battle with a handful of troops even if their set against many - provided that their defending , of course.
In short , this game had proven that raw power means nothing if you do not have the brains to use it.

= Saints Row : The Third ( Free Roam Award ) =

= Description =

This is like GTA - but with comedy , better gameplay and with an ample amount of customization involved.
Still , it doesn't really change the fact that it gets old over time - but at least it has it's kicks compared to GTA.

= Crysis 2 ( Shooter Award ) =

= Description =

As much as it is a wreck compared to the previous installment , Crysis still does retain some of it's quirks.
Having a Nanosuit pretty much means you can actively use it's various functions for your current situation.
May it be extra strength , speed or durability , this pretty much means that it'll bring Multiplayer experience to a whole new level.

= Assassin's Creed : Revelations ( Stealth Award ) =

= Description =

I have a feeling that I'd get a hidden blade up my throat if I missed this one.

= Catherine =

= Description =

Should I consider this a platformer , an adventure game or a puzzle game?
Meh.
Anyways , it's not a game for everyone but it does have it's own quirks.

= Hatsune Miku : Project Diva Extend ( Music Game Award ) =

= Description =

Whilst not everyone may enjoy listening to an artificial voice - the difficulty of this game isn't a joke - at least , for some of the songs.

= Macross Triangle Frontier ( Mecha Award ) =

= Description =

I would've given it to Gundam Assault Survive - but it was released in 2010.
MTF shares the same system but enchanced to fit it's unusual gameplay system.
Whilst not a perfect game , it's a must have for giant robot fans.

= Amnesia ( Horror Award ) =

= Description =

... You know , I really suck at explaining things.
Just enjoy reading the names...

= Fate/Extra ( RPG Award ) =

= Corpse Party ( Another Horror award? ) =

.... AND , I'm fresh out of juice. Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Macross Last Frontier - Ultimate Frontier Package.

For something which costs over a $110 - it was totally worth it.

It comes along with the Movie : Sayonara no Tsubasa ( Wings of Goodbye ) , the commentaries from the developers and most importantly - the game itself.
You might have to turn off the Autoplay feature of your PS3 since the Movie is a priority item in the disc.

Truth be told , the game is a mite bit disappointing in comparison to Triangle Frontier in terms of feature but the revamped graphics and balancing of the game makes it worth while.
... Though it is a torture for those whom have smaller screens.

I've also bought Gundam EXTREME VS. It's not perfect owing to the lack of unlockables and the number of suits per series but the intensive fighter-based combat can be really... intense.
Game balance is dramatically improved and every suit have their distinct combat nature - though they did water down some suits like Wing Zero Custom - too much so for my liking.

Hopefully there would be DLCs and free Redeem Codes for the SEA version of the game since suits like Epyon and Shenlong are missing from the game.

Gods Eater 2 - More Info

Apparently , Gods Eater 2 would not be - surprisingly enough - released on the VITA but the PSP.

Whilst it may look grim for English players of Gods Eater , the narration of the trailer is done in English despite the fact that the words are in Kanji.
The graphics of Gods Eater is also done in a way to resemble Final Fantasy Type 0 - not to mention that legit Hammers ( Burst Hammers ) and spears ( Charge Spears ) will be included into the game.

The game is set three years after the events of Gods Eater Burst and it is unknown whether the cast of the original Gods Eater ( Man , I'm going to miss Lindow , Sakuya , Alisa , Kota and Soma... and my Main Character ) or the importing of Save Data is possible in this new Gods Eater game which would be in bound 2012.

The MC of this game is , apparently , part of a group called Blood - a specialises group sent to investigate the events of Red Rain. Apparently , the Red Rain has caused an illness of sorts to infect the survivors of the Far East Branch ( My stomach squirmed a little. Hopefully the members of the branch survived ) and unlike the Fenrir Far East Branch , Blood lives in a mobile fortress named Freyja.

According to screenshots , new Aragami , weapons and locations would be available. Old maps such as Church of Memories , apparently , may still be available with the inclusion of new icy terrains,

Well , I'm still kinda bothered about the fact that we most likely can't use our Main Characters from Gods Eater Burst... I mean , his / she's a complete bad ass , no?
