The banned account will have no impact on your main account. I will now also close the new one you first contacted us with in this thread.

@newmanagement: Due to a number of issues caused by users creating similar accounts to existing ones, we blanket ban any account that appears to be impersonating another user. It is at the moderators discretion to contact a user found doing so.

We however have no issue with people creating accounts to contact us for help. Which should have been your first course of action. If as I suggested you contact us via the mod PM, we may be able to get you back into your account. For security reasons we'll have to confirm some details.

Your other route is as you said, contacting the email provider to try getting your email account back.

We actually don't allow users to create extra accounts without permission from the community team, and it is also worth noting that the code of conduct has a rule against creating accounts to impersonate another user or member of staff. It seems your account was banned for the latter.

If you can't get into your original account you will need to privately contact the moderation team (Click here) and we can discuss how you want to move forwards with this.

I will leave your current account open for now so you can do this.

@bitjetkit: Hi there, I have looked over your account and can't find the thread you say you created. I did however notice some posts that I suspect were the cause of your moderation, with actions taken by two separate moderators for "Spamming various boards with nonsensical topics and responses". Which is why you got a strike and a 3 day ban.

As you should know, we expect everyone including past and present moderators to follow the Terms of Service and the Code of Conduct.

If you would like more details on your moderation, I would advise contacting the team here. Where you can talk to the moderators who issued you the strike and the community manager.

@cayde: The legacy point system doesn't do anything anymore, but we keep it around for older users who spent a lot of time earning those points/levels.

The karma system however is part of the flagging system. Get flagged you get a point. Get ten points and you'll be temporarily banned, until your karma drops back below 10 points.

@hofuldig: GameSpot has always had some filtering. In a recent change we have increased what words are now filtered to help keep the comments a bit cleaner. We in general have no issue with people swearing on the site, as long as it doesn't get out of hand or negatively effect another users use of the site.

@riseaus: Hello, sorry for the long wait for a reply for this. You can pick a platform if you choose to write a review and then rate the platform version there. The old site used to allow you to pick the platform and just rate that one, but was removed during streamlining of the game pages.

The stacks system is a bit buggy and could really do with to TLC.
