Erm it's not first person and not a horror, but it's an awesome point and click game, have a look for The Longest Journey.

If you have a phone line but no internet connection, I advise signing up to a pay as you go dial up service and use it to activate your version of portal. It'll only cost you the price of the time you use, you don't even have to use it after. I know here in the UK BT offer this. http://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/startup?version=ie55&ex=1&prmt=ANY007

IWBTG! I don't even know why I tried this indie game. Okay from mainstream games, Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, Hidden & Dangerous, Shogun: Total War (The rebels just wait untill you run out of hairs), Devil May Cry 3, Ikaruga. Battletoads, would be my number one, but I haven't replayed it since I was quite young and now I find alot of older games I was really good at hard, I can't even beat games like Streets of Rage or Double Dragon anymore.

Doom 2 I think was my first pc game.

First game ever to complete would have been something like Golden Axe.

1. You head and limbs can pass through solid objects most of the time. 2. You can turn on the spot without moving a muscle. 3. Time always is alot faster than it should be. 4. The world may end because a driver has stopped responding. 5. Most stereotypes are true. 6. Endings are normally crap. 7. You should probably never speak. 8. People run into walls alot more than I thought. 9. A generals don't care about casualties when they can buy as many replacements as they want. 10. Sex seems to be banned.

No offense, but haven't you seen 1000s of threads about this? No one can run it smooth. I did not even bother, I just put it on med/high and play it. I also put it on my raptor HDD to make loading little better. Game runs fine, but def not smooth, at times framerate would fall to 15-20. I run it on 8800GTS 512 , 3.2 Ghz C2D CPU and 2 gigs of RAM.Creative
Lol yes, read the title. I've noticed that most other topics are people who can't get it to run a a nice frame rate. But this is more like the frames are been lost. I'm not having any problems with load times, they're quite short really. What was more strange is that it doesn't really change at all if I change the settings from highest to lowest (with textures on medium), I mean there's seems to be a slight frame rate change, but the games smoothness, is about the same. It also seems to be worse using the 360 controller.

Something I've noticed about GTA IV, is that the max settings and the lowest settings don't really have much difference in frame rates. While the game is playable at all settings, it's just annoying I can't get it to look smooth whatever I do.

It's not like my machine can't handle it, I've had every big game of the last two years running nicely on it.

So I've been wondering if anyone else is having problems getting it to run smooth?

(this doesn't seem to be a frame rate issue)

Thnak you all very much, seems the Auzentech X-Fi Prelude is as close as I'll get to a gamer sound card with near zero latency sound input. It's a bit of a streach for my christmas bonus but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
