Crysis runs better on DX9 than DX10, and all the DX10 implementations were shallow and pointless, and could've easily been done on a DX9-only build requiring less performance. Isolating the multiplayer community between those who use Windows XP and Windows Vista was an incredibly stupid move, as the community has chosen to stick with the servers that are more popular with the larger crowd (the DX9 users) and now everybody plays on DX9 servers and nobody plays on DX10 servers. Don't make the same mistake again, Crytek.-Jiggles-
Erm the dx10 version is alot different to the dx9 version graphically? It looks rather lifeless in the dx9 version, alot of the effects are missin in the dx9 version (probably because it was developed for dx10). There are a number of reasons I think it runs better with dx9:
1. It's not using the full graphical power of the game.
2. that this was the first game to be developed for dx10, while dx9 has been around for quite a while now, it kind of makes sence that they can use optimize and code to it's full potential.
So I hope they reamp the engine, now they had a bit more experiance with dx10 I hope they can get it looking even better, without needing the top end hardware to run it.
