Crysis runs better on DX9 than DX10, and all the DX10 implementations were shallow and pointless, and could've easily been done on a DX9-only build requiring less performance. Isolating the multiplayer community between those who use Windows XP and Windows Vista was an incredibly stupid move, as the community has chosen to stick with the servers that are more popular with the larger crowd (the DX9 users) and now everybody plays on DX9 servers and nobody plays on DX10 servers. Don't make the same mistake again, Crytek.

Erm the dx10 version is alot different to the dx9 version graphically? It looks rather lifeless in the dx9 version, alot of the effects are missin in the dx9 version (probably because it was developed for dx10). There are a number of reasons I think it runs better with dx9:

1. It's not using the full graphical power of the game.

2. that this was the first game to be developed for dx10, while dx9 has been around for quite a while now, it kind of makes sence that they can use optimize and code to it's full potential.

So I hope they reamp the engine, now they had a bit more experiance with dx10 I hope they can get it looking even better, without needing the top end hardware to run it.

Monkey Island 5 FTW! I doubt the genre will ever be big as it was in it's prime, but there's not dead thanks to some smaller developers and you can always replay the classics. I think I might dig out Grim Fandango when I get home.

[QUOTE="zanelli"][QUOTE="couly"]I am sick to death of bad ports, FarCry2 made me cry and now this. sSubZerOo
How can you call them ports? I mean it's been developed for PC to be released at the same time, it'd seem a stupid to make something on a PC, optimize it for consoles and then re-optimize it for PC from that. Does Farcry 2 even play badly performance wise anyway? If I can pull myself away from the other things I'm playing atm, I'll have to give this a look. I'm sure that Monolith will sort out any problems to do with game play, I mean they had a massive testing team for the original FEAR, and that played beautifully. The only thing that brought the first game down was the variation, so if anything I hope they've come up with a lot of new ideas.

It is odviously clear games like FEAR 2 and Farcry 2 was developed for consoles FIRST than ported over the pc.. The interface, the menu..

I'm not going to start an argument about porting games, but I will put that the term port is over used and alot of people don't really know what a port really is and I doubt Ubisoft or Monolith are going to be that stupid to port a game to a platform they're meant to developing it for at the same time, that'd be a waste of time. Having the same menus and interfaces on all platorms is just poor design. I think alot of PC gamers need to grow up when it comes to poor games, just because it's on another platform doesn't make it a port. We PC gamers are meant to be the pinnacle of gaming, we're generally the older and smarter gamers. So why are we picking out games that are bad on all systems and saying they're ports when they most likley arn't. I do think alot of developers and publishers need to put more thought in to the PC version of games. I mean for these two games there target audience is mainly PC gamers.

The funniest games I've ever played:

1. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge.

2. Maniac Mansion 2: Day of the Tentacle.

3. Monkey Island.

4. Grim Fandango.

5. Sam & Max: Hit the Road.

6. The Curse of Monkey Island.

7. Escape From Monkey Island.

When I've wanted humor I've always looked to adventure games. All these games a are hilarious. Also the new Sam and Max series's and the Discworld games are very funny.

Okay at first I didn't like it... the amount of units is alot less than I hoped for, there's no such thing as three man SM squads (yes with the sargent it's right) and the the unit cap is too low.

But afer a few games, it's charm won me over, it's awesome. The fact that the chapters are fairly well done with things like Plasma devastator squads for Dark Angels, the cover system from CoH adds a new twist to tactics other than run in to big hole, avoid water and stairs, and the leveling system for each unit really pushes you to think of ways to keep them alive.

In a match where it's 'till the death it really is all out war, but those struggles for strategic points it the combat seems to take a back seat to runing units around to keep points, in a Nid vs Nid match the combat was non existent for a large part of the match.

This is my opinion after a few games, I'm sure I'll have some more to say after a few more.

Okay seems we where all wrong, F and Right button to first use it and left mouse button to fire object away. As Chessmaster said, you do need to get the Kinesis Module first.

It's not really a port... You press Ctrl + Left Mouse Button or something like that, if no one else has corrected me if I'm wrong I'll check when I get home.
