And yet any reputable review site will hail a Plasma model as the best flat panel model currently out. where is the disconnect? do you really want to know?

People arent that smart, they will immediately go for the bright display (Sony LCD's were bright enough several generations ago, but they STILL KEEP INCREASING THE BRIGHTNESS AND BRAGGING ABOUT IT), only to realize once they bring it home (Especially if they are a gamer) that it will dry/fry their eyes twice as fast at that setting than their previous Tube. They will then either put up with it, or put the brightness down just about where a Plasma may be, but you'll be getting a lesser picture by many degrees.

I agree that Plasmas are consitently rated to produce better pictures, just wanted to point out that it was ironic that this technology was "loosing" against lcd.

I think this would be a great addition to XBOX Live if it ran in conjunction with the Zune software. I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes to replace in the in game music with podcasts or my own music. At the moment it's a tedious affair with syncing my ipod, then making sure its a saved playlist etc etc.

The problem would be solved if either A. the 360 had a built in Podcast Aggregator that Gold members could use or B. the Zune software allowed streaming of Podcasts from a pc. Why the software doesn't allow this currently, I can not fathom.

Would any of you find this to be of use?

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to go with the Tv, but now with Camera's addict. Those guys are complete scam artists, initally I did place an order with them, but they called me to say the base was not included in price quoted and would cost an extra $300. Crazy...I cancelled the order, and purchased it from Circuit City, due to a no interest deal they had on their credit card.

It's great I love it, and the S series for this one is a 1080p!

I've been thinking about getting an HDTV for a while, and think I'm finally going to take the plunge. I'm looking around the 46'' size and will mainly be using it for gaming/laptop/watching tv. I've decided to go with the Sony 46'' KDL46S4100. I spent some time comparing the S series to the V series and didn't really see any features I thought would be worth the extra money.

At the moment cameraaddict is listing the tv for $1250 with shipping $1450. Seems like a good deal to me. What do you guys think?

Not quite sure I understand what you're saying. However, there are some sports game I enjoy playing but find the commentary and in-game music rather annoying after having heard them so many times. Being able to listen to some music or podcasts while I play would be a nice option. I'm able to do it while playing NBA 2k8 on the 360, and would love to do it while playing Madden 07 on the PS3.
