I don't really get the kinect thing. I mean sure, it may seem quite intimidating at first but don't most devices these days have a front-facing camera? How can you be 100% sure that the front-facing camera on your iPhone isn't monitoring you every time you take out your phone and using your facial expressions, as in reactions to viewed content, as means for targeted advertisements and whatnot?
For those too paranoid, can't you simply cover the thing with a blanket, put a patch over it or even place a leaden brick in front of it because infra-red scanners and stuff? Or will the machine be like "Not going to work at all unless I can get a clear picture of you."?

I'm looking for a good car racing game, that manages to achieve that feeling of speed as well as making the player sort of feel the grip on the track, so that it doesn't feel like it's floating or something. Simulation or arcade-ish, I don't care. Any recommendations?
The official servers have gone free and I feel like playing some L2 but I wouldn't want to waste my time on dead servers. Any feedback on the state of the game?
For stuff that doesn't require precision, I use controller. This includes Racing games, RPGs that don't rely on bows and inventory management too much, a lot of console ports and so on.
For FPS, RTS (obviously) and other games that require precision I stick with keyboard & mouse.
I don't know whether it's due to my schedule or attention span but I can't seem to stay focused on a game that's too long. Originally, I wanted to go with "non-RPG" in title, since these are usually the games that take 30-100 hrs to complete but hey, maybe there's a short one as well. So, as the title suggests, I'm looking for some good, yet "short" games. I'd like them to be sub 10 hrs, the shorter the better. I'd like you to prioritize AAA titles or so, rather than indies but it won't matter if you mention these. Just don't want the thread to be flooded with indies.
Note that the highest 10 hour mark should be reachable in a regular, first-time playthrough, not a speedrun or experienced play.
I feel like playing some FPS online and I have no idea what to get. The main FPS titles I know are, sadly, BF and CoD, either of which I'm reluctant to get, since there's a new game released every year, which I'm not a big fan of. Could you guys maybe introduce me to some other FPSs with multiplayer? F2P would be cool but doesn't have to be. Can be military, futuristic or whatever, doesn't matter.
Which one would you go for? (steam offer)
Got a limited budget so I can buy only one game right now. Deciding between SC2:HotS and Dishonored. Which one should I go for?
As for the reason I want Dishonored, I recently finished Deus Ex:HR and I got quite hooked on the stealth and stuff. Dishonored has also been on my radar since the first trailers came out but at the release, I was busy playing other stuff to get it.
As for HotS, I've been playing SC2 for quite some time as well, and although I'm not very active in PvP (as in online matches), I stick to Campaign and various AI challenges. Playing the Zerg in the main capmaign as well as playing what seems like an interesting story is quite appealing as well.
From what I've noticed, Blizzard games tend to keep their launch price for quite some time before they drop and waiting for Dishonored to appear on Steam sale with a reasonable discount can take ages as well.
I don't really care whether it's an RPG or a Platformer. I'm mainly after some more known and/or quality games, don't need all the Indies released in 2012. Oh, and mainly single-player stuff. No MMOs.
Okay, can you guys help me make a list of games (preferably the good ones) released in the last year that do not involve guns? (Getting kind of bored of the FPS model)
No particular order: (correct me if I'm wrong on some, haven't played them all)
1. Dark Souls (PC)
2. Diablo 3
3. Mark of the Ninja
4. Kingdom of Amalur
