@Xristophoros: I predict that if you understand 'what kinda game' this is. An open-worldish/hack and slashy kinda monster hunter game, with a lot of JPRG influence, you shouldn't be too disappointed. Also, this game is gonna be very eccentric and hard to 'pin down' genre wise. But, one place this game is gonna fail to deliver imo, is to the MASSIVELY dedicated FF fans. This game doesn't even have turn based battle, so, that alone is a big slap in the face to true fans of the franchise.
Especially since he probably never 'really' used even a desktop computer before. He is a bit of an older fella, and I doubt he has 1/100th the skill(or touch) as most 3rd graders of today with a touchscreen device. It takes time to 'get used to' a touchscreen device, and you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
He is a cheater, but the way he cheats is somewhat admirable. I hate the Patriots, I have been a Panthers fan since they announced the franchise. To find out we barely lost to them in SB38 by a really late field goal(3 points), right during the height of Belichicks lip reading hustle. It is kinda aggravating, knowing this MFer had 10-20 lip readers sitting in our games all year, reading all our plays and such, to the point where he knew EVERY SINGLE play we were calling, yet he only beat us by 3 points late in a SB. It'll make you hate a MFer. But he works hard, and cheating is just how he rolls. I call him Belicheat.
Just because it doesn't work for one particular coach, to play football with, doesn't mean that the product sucks. It just means, you cannot 'force-feed' certain technologies down some coach's throats. Especially coaches who have spent DECADES doing it a different kinda way. Although, I will say, MS tablet computers are pretty crappy(ESPECIALLY for the price), and compared to the BS hype. Also, 400 million$ is not 'that much' money to the 'entire' NFL(over a half of a decade). Just one stadium, on one Sunday can bring in MILLIONS on concessions alone. Not counting merchandising, parking and good lord the tickets.
It is a good chunk of change though, CERTAINLY the only reason they use the POSs.
@7tizz: There is NOTHING wrong with enjoying even the worst video game in the world. If you enjoy it personally, that is great for you. It is when you start trying to jam your reality, opinion and tastes down everyone else's throat, that is when you become a nuisance.
@Xristophoros: I predict mixed reviews. Sometimes 'no-name' reviewers will purposely give a game the lowest score, so that their site and review pop up at the bottom of the top 5 on metacritic's home page for the game. Sometimes this becomes a low scoring battle between several no namers. Creating a few-several REALLY lowball scores. But with this one, I predict a natural chunk of severely mixed reviews. From gamers also.
The more I see, It seems like this game is just WAY 'overthought', like from the way the characters are dressed, to the fighting style, to the music. It all seems for lack of a better word 'mismatched', and kinda almost the cringe, but who knows? I surely hope the game will be excellent, Mafia 3 was a major let down, and that sucks. The last thing I want are bad games. I just do not see it though, another thing being, the graphics look outdated, like mainly the landscapes and ground textures. Looks a little last genish, honeslty IMO some of it looks a little wiiUish.
I've played video games for decades. Sometimes reviewers will actually end up enjoying a game more, or 'not as much' based on one simple reality, "they have to 'finish' the game". You see, when me or you buy/rent/get our hands on a game, we are 'not forced' to do anything. A good example(for me) is No Man's Sky, a game that got relatively 'good' reviews. But, since I wasn't 'forced' to play it, I could never even get a footing in the game, I found it very uninspiring, and I would score the game a 5/10. But, if I 'had to play it' I would probably give it a 7/10, because it would just be a different 'experience' finishing it in about a week's time. I think one reason Evolve got such decent scores, is because reviewers many times played it with their co-workers/work friends. Imagine, all you have to do for your work is play Evolve against your work buddies for a week or 2. Yea, in that scenario, that game would rock. I have gaming buddies also, but we do not 'do it for a job'. Evolve simply didn't have any 'staying power'. It was as thin as a wafer crisp, and more likely to crumble. There was no real substance to Evolve, and it sure as hell wasn't much 'fun' in general.
