Really, because there are less Spiderman fans on PC? Your logic is flawed. Gamers like good games and they will buy on their platform, how many copies would have sold for GoW and HZD had they released on PC, I bet a lot.

PC is a target audience? They has more game sales than the three consoles combined, it sounds like the consoles are more target than PC gaming.

The Spider-Man fans will simply get a Playstation and buy the game on Playstation. How many Spider-Man fans are exclusively PC gamers? Because that's that target audience.

I doubt Spiderman fans will shell out $600 bucks to play Spiderman alone, they would need a lot of other reasons and if they have no interest in GoW, HZD or the other exclusives I doubt Spiderman will make them buy it either.

its more proof that people care about exclusives because they are TOLD to care about exclusives. with the clever use of flashly lights, neat music and excited speakers.

That must be why Sea of Thieves, State of Decay and The Order flopped, right? Because they're not exclusives, RIGHT?

let me try this again

many people care, like, get excited and buy....WHAT THEY ARE TOLD TO

Sure, they got told to be excited for those games, but they didn't and those games flopped. Nice Tryit.

A lot of people were excited for Sea of Thieves. Sea of Thieves was only outsold by Farcry 5 in March and Sea of Thieves released in late March.

I mean there are probably at least a few million on PC players that just won't buy consoles regardless of exclusives. My roommate is one of those people, he says that PC is just better overall so why waste the cash for even 10 exclusvies plus a console when he can get 10 multiplates and save the money on the console, and I really doubt that he isn't alone on that thinking. He says he will keep his 500 to upgrade his PC if and when he wants. His PC already crushes any console on the market specs wise and he could just make it even more future proof if he wanted.

There certainly are many people who game exclusively on PC and never would game on console but these are likely a small part of the target audience for AAA games like Spider-Man. If Sony releases enough exclusive content to sway people into buying a Playstation, not only have the acquired a customer, they've also acquired a customer that can potentially buy a PSN subscritpion, accessories and other games. This is much better than releasing a game for a target audience that may or may not buy a couple of exclusives.

You would essentially buy a $500 console for one game? With tax your spending $600 for one game. There better be more than Spiderman you want to play on that console.

Nope for the multiple exclusives. That's the strategy behind exclusives. Swaying enough people to buy a platform so they can keep buying exclusive games on it. The amount of PC players that really want to play the game won't just ignore it, they'll likely get it for the Playstation which can be had for 299$ and also has many good other exclusives. The amount that wouldn't buy a Playstation for it probably don't care about it that much and would likely get it on sale later down the line. Better to just force the large chunk that want the game to get a Playstation if they don't already have one AND the game. And since they'll have a Playstation they'll also buy other exclusives that aren't on PC.

PS4 is reaching 90 million sales, I really believe your roommate is not the target audicente.

Even more: consoles are conveniente, PCs aren't.

And are you Zaryia's alt?

The games were made on a PC...
How are PC's not convenient? You still have to install games on a console, you can use a controller on a PC if you so desire and we have stronger specs on PC, consoles are literally holding back games and that has actually been said by developers.

Don't forget that Sony also makes money for every single game sold on ps4 by third parties.

Comeon don't be ridiculous, I'm sure even you can engage your brain and realize Sony is losing money by not catering to the PC only crowd.

They flopped because they were all considered bad games with no substance.

@zeggelaar: Do you know what market share is and how it works?

I'm no expert on it, but don't market shares go up when a company makes more money?

I mean look at EA when they put in micro transactions in SWBF2, there market shares went down after the backlash.
Not a lot and they made the money back and more with the microtransactions because players are idiots, but when a company makes a lot of money shares go up.

@zeggelaar: Don’t know if that works like that broski. If it came out on PC I simply wouldn’t buy it for the Playstation. If it ends up being terrific, I’ll buy it for the Playstation. Those potential PC players wouldn’t simply not buy the game. They’d buy it on the Playstation.

Rare was an amazing company as well, they released solid games over and over again and look at them now.

That's some shitty "logic", friend.

"X went bad therefore so will Y!"...?

Naw.

I'm just saying it isn't the first time a developer with a great track record went to shit.
