i am getting an xbox 360 today at night or may be tomorrrow

i had a question

i know the the 360 elite has more hard drive space than the regular one but that doesnt matter to me because i am not going to download the arcade games and something. I just had one question b/w the difference b/w 360 and elite

i have an hdtv. Can a 360 pro play games in high definition on a HDTV? if yes than why does the elite have a HDMI port of HD gaming.

p.s. what does a HDMI port used for?

If your HDTV has an HDMI port you'll want to use it. HDMI carries the digital HD signal and the audio with one cable. Its clean a neat and the picture and sound is the best you can get. The pro systems has an HDMI port, but you'll have to buy the cable yourself. Check the prices because HDMI cables are really expensive. The pro comes with componenet cables only. Which don't allow 108p upconversion and do not upconvert DVDs, if you would use your 360 to play DVDs that is.

Also, the Elite system has the 120GB hard drive. I didn't think I would ever use that, but there are a few things you can do to eat up storage space real quick. Downloading the shivering isles expansion is one example. You can get a lot of milage out of the 20GB hard drive, but I would perfer to have the extra space myself.

I would go with Halo 3. I didn't like Gears, but that isn't because its a bad game. The one player on gears is very short and although the game has some great inovations, like the reload system, the online is a little lacking. Halo 3 is really improved. I didn't like Halo or Halo 2 much but there is so much more value to Halo 3. The levels are well designed and the weapons are well balanced. The matchmaking system makes jumping into online matches incredibly painless. After having my 360 for well over a year I have played many games, but Halo 3 is the best 360 game by far.

I see many respondents are pointing out that the Xbox 360 is available at many stores bundled with Halo 3; true, but at extra cost. The question is wouldn't Microsoft have been better off to keep the same price for the system - just the system - and instead of bundling two solid but lesser-known games bundle in Halo 3 at the same cost?

I'm thinking Microsoft would not want to miss out on the profits of selling Halo 3 as a standalone, but wouldn't it be even better to increase market share through console sales and eat the cost of Halo 3 to secure future revenues?Bozanimal

This probably is a better idea. Though even better would be a coupon to buy two games of your choice.

I do think they're going to make more Halo games with master chief. Also, unrelated to your post. I love you gamertag.

I'm not completely sure, but I think the first M rated game I played was Golden Eye 007. Of course I started playing games way before ratings were invented, so there might have been something the either desrved an M or was an M that I didn't notice.

[QUOTE="teebeenz"][QUOTE="Anabub"] if the PS3 was competitivly priced to begin with I feel the war this gen would be much closer fought!!Anabub
Well thats the great thing about price drops, with each one the amount they can lower it the next time gets less which means prices become close very quickly.

No not really most ppl have made thier choice now ... I for one would have held off getting a 360 when i did if the PS3 wasn't going to be as much ... many ppl won't get the PS3 now either as they have invested in the Wii as a second (or even first) system. No amount of price drops acn help SONY at the moment, it's going to take a big slash in prices to get people intrested.

I would consider a PS3 if the price dropped to $299. I like it but for the price it is at now it doesn't offer anything I can't get on my 360 that I would be willing to pay a good amount for. Still more game exclusives could push me over the edge.

Blue Dragon is an awesome game, don't let the Gamespot review put you off.

Actually, how Two Worlds got 7/10 and Blue Dragon got 6/10 is completely beyond me. Am I the only one who thought Two Worldswas bad to the point of it being hilarious?

del_rogeo

Agreed. I played Two Worlds and Really liked it, but there are too many bugs. Also, as much as people have applauded the graphis I thought it looked very poor.

Blue Dragon is a great game if you're a fan of the classic Japanese RPG series. It reminds me more of Dragon Quest than anything else, but the system is kind of like Final Fantasy IV. I wrote a Review of Blue Dragon and Two Worlds if you're curious.

it says right on gamestop.com The controller includes a nine-foot (nearly three-meter) break-away controller cable. justinpate

I have a wired xbox 360 controller and it is breakaway, which is a good idea if you have a wired controller. I actually have an off-brand wired controller, but I stil feel the breakaway mechanisim is better than it was on the original xbox. My original xbox would constantly tell me the controllers were unpluged while they were still pulgged in. Nothing like that happens with my wired controler.
