play with the Roma Surrectum mod here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=251

you won't EVER complain about the graphics again

just look at the pictures here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=382277

it looks even better than Medieval 2

although there are little annoyances such as the need to activate script in campaign every turn

don't think u will like guild wars if u prefer open world games, its heavily instanced with group based combat and most importantly NO JUMPING

lotro on the other hand is much more open, with more freedom, i just started as well and really enjoy it

however definitely play guild wars 2 when it comes out, cos its gonna be awesome

im currently playing on the landroval server in lotro if u decide to play it give me a pm

also if u don't like lotro and prefer guild wars, i still have an extra game of the year edition cd key (prophecies), it gives 6 free items on as many toons as u like

thx guys, looks like the athlon is the better choice

my current cpu is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz

i don't really plan on overclock so upgrading to 640 is gonna give a significant boost right?

i might plan on spending the extra 50 on a new mobo

need help deciding cpu
my comp is mainly used for gaming, especially cpu intensive games like total war and arma2

the two best cpu that my mobo support is Phenom II X4 945 95w and
Athlon II X4 640

i was wondering which one is the better choice, the 945 usually cost about $150 and the 640 usually cost about $100, however some comparison charts shows that the 945 is only a few fps (1-5) better than the 640 when gaming, so is it wise to spend the extra $50 to get the 945???

some article suggest that the 945 is better since its a phenom brand and has a L3 cache, however im not really sure what it means and i need as much opinion as possible before i buy, preferably this weekend.

so please leave suggestions on which one to choose, i don't plan on overclocking the cpu so which one is the best bang for the buck???

we are back to the begining... oh well : )

how do u think the 945 is, is it worth $50 more than the athlon 640?

because according to some chart, athlon 640 is only a few fps (5 most) behind phemom 945

i was wondeing if its worth $50 more

i don't plan on overclocking, so is having L3 cache and Phenom brand gonna make a big difference in terms of performance? (i have no idea what L3 is)

so which one seems like better deal, phenom 945 can usually be found at $150 whereas athlon 640 can usually be found at $100

hey guys my current cpu is
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
and my motherboard is GIGABYTE GA-M56S-S3
http://ee.giga-byte.com/products/m [...] s3_1x.html

i wanted to upgrade my cpu, however my mobo can't handle more than 100w here's the list of supported cpu
http://www.gigabyte.com.au/support [...] x?pid=2607

according to the list i can handle up to phenom 955 95w, but apparently its only on sale in japan, i currently have my eyes on the Phenom II X4 945 95w and the Athlon II X4 640
the 945 is usually $50 more than the 640 here in Australia ($AU about the same as $US)

i use my comp mainly for gaming, especially cpu intensive games like arma2 or total war
so should i spend $50 more on getting the 945 or should i go with the 640???
