I would think it's cross platform.. It just from blockbuster database. Namco did comment a word at all..
Let wait for announcement before we cry this and that.

Price cut is coming.. pretty soon
good answer, but gamers that are purely into games doesn't really care, they can live with disc swap. Older adult will cares because they're not only want to play games, they want the whole package. I hope most adults did not buy the PS3 as a blu-ray player. Maybe a temporary one, but the second gen players will destroy the PS3 in terms of blu-ray playback. The system is a great way for younger customers to get a decent player (note: currently one of the better players), and a video games system at the same time. But people with more money to spend who are looking for the best wouldn't be picking up the ps3 for movie playback, especially since dvd playback is abysmal. I don't think anyone is gonna use the PS3 for BluRay in the long haul, it's just a test medium. Just like when I bought the PS2 I wanted to experience the new DVD medium and the PS2 was a great way to test out the waters before the stand alone players become affordable. Everyone knows that Rom drives wear out with over use, so he PS3 to most is just the beginning of BluRay untill a cheaper more reliable altarnative comes along.[QUOTE="pimperjones"][QUOTE="BroweChisox"][QUOTE="zhuojloh"][QUOTE="pimperjones"]No when you buy a movie on a format you wanna know you're buying the right one that'll last the long haul. People just wanna know that they made the right choice when it comes to media. It's like buying games, you wanna know that the system you bought is gonna last the long haul. Thats all.Thomas-Crown
The Blu-Ray drive is very attractive. A new format for media which can deliver much more than any medium out in the market at the moment will definitely get some attention. You can think of the possibility in the future. I guess my point is... When investing in new technology, you want to make sure it is future proof .
I agree. before PS3, I was in need for a player that can play hi-def movies, at a point i'm even considering HD-DVD because of the it's headstart. But PS3 is just too good to be true. at $500 i can play games and watch hi-def movies and the review on PS3 blu-ray movies playback quality is remarkably superb. It make it a must buy for HDTV owner. It's a no brainer for me.No when you buy a movie on a format you wanna know you're buying the right one that'll last the long haul.
