And as for the OP. I don't blame you if you have been ripped off by next generation consoles. That's why people buy it, to be ripped off and let it slowly grow upon them. In this sense some people may like it and some won't. I don't think I'll like it so I'm going to be sticking with the PS3 for the next 2-3 years until I move out of the house and buy my own PS4. I can't let go of experiences like GTA V, Uncharted, AC 2 (Brotherhood, 5) and well: a hell of a lot more. Or well should I go next gen... And restrict myself with expensive games and a deserted library.
Why not...... get a PS4 and keep the PS3? :O
What's weird is, I've never owned a Playstation in my life. But I'm very knowledgeable on them. And my dad's going to be the one buying a console for me, and his wallet isn't prepared to handle 2 consoles in the house. So until I move out after maybe 3 years?.. I can buy whatever I want to. But for now, I have to decide between current gen. and next gen..
It was overrated but still a great system. It didn't have the graphical capabilities of the Xbox or Cube, and it also didn't have any must-have games IMO. No RDR, GTA5, Skyrim, TLOU, or Uncharted 2. It did have a massive number of games though many of which were quite good.
