Zman Presents: Top 20 Games of 2011: Intro.

MOTIVATION!

Well, it seems that I am unable/lazy (take your pick. Please choose 'unable', it makes me look better) to make my video of the Top 20 games of 2011. So here's some blogs. It's not too late, is it? Wait, it is? Well you can tell him to shove that damn thumbtack up his---

*ahem* Please ignore that. Instead, let's talk about this list. Actually, I'll just copy and paste my script... actually, I won't. I think.

Now, let's discuss the rules of this particular list: this is my opinion, I don't care if you don't agree with me. If you dare so try to argue with me over my personal opinion, you suck. Also, I have not played every game, so don't get pissy at me because I left out your precious Skyrim. I did not play that, nor do I plan/want to. And finally, #f*ckempire. Now get out of here, you rascals.

It'll start tomorrow, don't feel like doing it today.

I Wanted You To Know That I'm Ready to Go

Heartbeat, a heartbeat.

That's such an awesome song. It's by Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover.

I have come to a decision to do a blog once or twice a week, by the way. I'll find something to talk about if I have nothing. So today, I'll talk about music. Because I like music.

Note: The following music may contain innapropiate things. Such as the song "Heartbeat" by Childish Gambino, which has innapropiate (but awesome) lyrics such as "69 is the only dinner for two". But if you're on the internet and have a GameSpot account and are reading my blogs, then you should have no big deal.

This song is by My Darkest Days called "Casual Sex". I'd post the music video, but it's very innapropiate. VERY. And the official lyric video also has some innapropiate imagery. I don't want to be banned for pr0nz. This song, anyway, is pretty awesome and better than I originally had thought. I don't know why, but it's just awesome. And it's better than "Porn Star Dancing" (man, MDD sure likes secks), and that song has Zakk Wylde and Ludacris!

Let's move on to something not relating to this topic. Let's post Asher Roth. This song, "Dope Sh*t", is just so... chill. Yet epic. Fluid like water. I go on a mental trip listening to this. Similar to "Common Knowledge". Can't wait for his new album in March. A related song: "Higher", which B.o.B, and I've been listening to it as I anticipate his new album in May and his upcoming single "So Good", which didn't come out the 14th and was pushed back a week. Until then, we have this funky song: "Play the Guitar", featuring the great Andre 3000. Also, B.o.B is no longer my favorite rapper: Lupe Fiasco has taken this spot. I mean, listen to "Kick Push", "I Gotcha", and "Words I Never Said". Awsomeness.

Intermission with mandatory Skrillex now. With special guest Tech N9ne.

Actually, that's all I feel like talking about. Kthnxbai.

The All-Important Zman Blog

Because I'm so awesome.

So, seems like a good time for a blog, and update about what's going on in the world of Zman and his awesome might. And first thing is my Top 20 Games of 2011.

OK so, it is not done. Due to being unable to record some parts and a cold I recently dealt with making recording not ideal, I didn't work on it, but plan to have it done soon, hopefully. I am hoping to see how it turns out. And if becomes much too long, and in a worst case scenario, I'll just make it a blog. As for my 2011 awards, I lost interest in that. I didn't really care, and couldn't think of anything interesting, so I didn't bother.

Next is some video games. Well, I've been playing mostly MineCraft and TF2 (both have absorbed me into their evil addictiveness), but other than that, I have plenty of other games. Well, first, I recently bought the Jak & Daxter Collection for PS3, and started the first game. Still not too far in, but I like it. It's fun, the characters are awesome, and plays well. Other games I plan on playing and beating soon before March comes around are Skyward Sword (which I plan to play and beat once I finish the first Jak & Daxter game), Rayman Origins (I believe I'm almost done with the main game), Super Mario 3D Land (Only 2 special worlds and some Star Coins left until 100%, review coming soon), and less important are the other 2 Jak & Daxter games and Metroid Prime. Hoping to finish these games sooner so I have more time to play what I plan to get in March: Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D (which comes out in February, I know) and Kid Icarus: Uprising. March is also my birth month, and I'll be 16, and then I can drive (legally)! Ahaha!

Fun story regarding Jak & Daxter: So, I was at GameStop, buying the game, because I was interested. I asked the girl working there if they had the game, and the response from her was a very ecstatic "Yes! We do!" She was rather overjoyed about this, since she had said that when she had a PS2, she played Jak & Daxter all the time and said she wanted the HD collection "soooo much". Yea, not the most interesting story, but it was amusing. She was a nice person.

Now some music. Why? I like music. And 2012 will be amazing for music. Aerosmith! B.o.B! Asher Roth! Black Sabbath! Hollywood Undead! Lupe Fiasco! Skrillex! Skillet! Machine Gun Kelly! Tech N9ne! Shinedown! Deuce! Slaughterhouse! My Darkest Days! The list goes on. We have already recieved the great Seether Remix EP, and next up in February, on the 14th (Valentine's Day!), is a small EP by YelaWolf and a British rapper/singer Ed Sheeran (plus B.o.B drops a new single, 'So Good'). March will be dabess, because of Shinedown bringing us "Amaryllis". Deuce was supposed to release "NineLives" on the same day Shinedown's album came out (the 27th), but is now April 24th. And B.o.B was supposed to release his album March 13th, the day before my birthday, but no, it got delayed to May 1st. Well, at least the 13th stillbrings us Tech N9ne's EP, "KLUSTERFUK".

Also, this song is one the greatest songs ever. Just saying.

Is that all? I guess it is, for now. Until then, Happy Valentine's Day!

Zman Presents: The 2011 Game Awards! Part 1

Hey guys, it is me, Zmanrwks, here to bring you a special treat. It's never too late for my epic video game awards, this time with the year of 2011. Which games are deserving of each award? You shall find out! My intro is short, but the awards are what's important. Onward!

Best Character:

Wheatley (Portal 2 - PC, PS3, 360)
Runner-up:
Quote (Cave Story 3D)

A predictable choice, I'm quite aware (great way to start, eh?), but Wheatley does what a great character does: is humorous, doesn't annoy you or piss you off, and has some great development. Portal 2 in general is a funny game, and Wheatley is the funniest and most entertaining part of the game. From his charming British accent (he is voiced by Stephen Merchant) to his comedic stupidity (remember the paradox scene?), he is as funny as he is a well-developed character.

Best Overall Voice Acting:

Batman: Arkham City (PS3, 360, PC, tbr on Wii U)
Runner-up:
Portal 2

What can I say, this game had strong voice acting. Especially from the Joker, it was crazy good. Harley Quinn was also pretty nice, and she was voiced by the same voice of Twilight Sparkle of MLP, so that's interesting trivia (also, I'm not a brony anymore. The show got boring). The weakest voice(oddly) Batman's but even that is a great job well-done. Each voice actor does a great job of the capturing the character's personality to a T, and just enhances the game's already impressive atmosphere.

Best Story:

Cave Story 3D (3DS)
Runner-up:
Pokemon Black/White

I loved Cave Story when I first played it for the first time once it arrived onto Nintendo's Wii/DSiWare in 2010, and so of course I wanted it's 3DS outting. Of course, the story is the same as it was in 2010 and 2004 (it's original PC release), but the story is just that stand-out to me. A robot with amnesia who was used to fight the creatures of the island who decides to rescue the cute li'l rabbit-like Mimigas of a floating island and... well, you should see it for yourself. It's impressively awesome.

Best Soundtrack:

Sonic Generations (PS3, 360, PC, 3DS)
Runner-up:
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Oh god, Sonic never EVER fails when it comes to music. Generations doesn't show failure either. Incredible remixes of cIassic tunes, in both modern and cIassic are eargasmic, and add to the game's gameplay. Including the ability to choose music to play in a stage also makes for awesome. Sonic, even if you stumble in gameplay, you shall live on with your musical powers!

Part 2 shall arrive this Sunday. Why 2 parts? Because I'm lazy.

Awards Coming Soon + New Theme

I have many people (to be exact, 0) complain about me using the Christmas theme still, so I changed it to Deadpool.

Next, my 2011 GotY awards are coming soon: in fact, the release date will be the 20th, aka this Friday. My GotY will be in my video, Top 20 Games of 2011, coming next week hopefully. Commentary and everything, it will be on my YouTube account. If you want to see it as soon as it's uploaded, subscribe to me, or stalk my channel. Either or.

Also, some scores:

Uncharted 3: 8
Batman: Arkham City: 8.5
Skyward Sword: 9
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: 8.5
Super Mario 3D Land: 8.5
Mario Kart 7: 9.5
Cave Story 3D: 9
Rayman Origins: 9

Reviews for some of them coming whenever the f*ck I feel like it.

Play the Guitar

Play the Guitar!

Amazing song by B.o.B with André 3000.

That is all, good bye.

PS: The games I got for Christmas are in my now playing list, minus for MC, TF2, and Rayman Origins, which aren't Christmas gifts.

Almost Time for Zman's GotY Awards!

Don't worry, more lists about this year of 2011 coming soon!

So, it's that time of the year where a tons of video gaming sites and magazines will be handing out some awards of video games, and I will have my own and hopefully everyone can see. And once Christmas comes around and gives me the chance to play even more games (at least 6), y'all will be excite if you wish to hear my opinions. And today is the prequal sort of, and my actual awards will be sometime after Christmas, possibly not until January.

This year was major for gaming, with tons of big releases (such as the 3DS and long-lost vaporware games like Duke Nukem Forever, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and LA Noire - betcha didn't know about the last one). I also managed to pick up not just 1, but 2 new gaming devices (being the 3DS and PS3), both of which I've wanted for a while. As of now, I have only 5 3DS games (excluding downloadable titles, all from 2011 of course), and for PS3, have about 8 (again excluding downloadable titles, 5 from 2011), and hope to have more for each by the end of the year. From the DS, I got only 3 games, and for Wii, I have purchased but 2, and 1 for PC (purchased, not downloaded for free, not like the two I got came out in 2011 anyway). Since I plan on getting 6 more at least for Christmas, that could easily be 22, making for an ideal Top 20 Games of 2011 list! That I am greatly looking forward to making.

I'm aware most of you will know my top contender(s) for Game of the Year, but there are plenty of other categories, including best soundtrack, best story, best character, and such.

Speaking of which, I only have 2 games left to beat before Christmas - Kirby's Mass Attack (how I haven't beaten already, I don't even...) and Rayman Origins (it's quite fun). This is the first year in forever that I didn't play The Thousand Year Door though, which is sad. I have a tradition to play both Pikmin 2 and TTYD (my top 2 games of all time) every year at least once; I played Pikmin 2, but not TTYD, which is upsetting. Well, I have to play it ASAP next year then.

2012 looks promising as well. The Wii U, some bombastic 3DS games (Kid Icarus coming close to my birthday!), and the Last of Us, which I'm hoping makes 2012 (I'm quite fascinated with that game...), and a bunch more of course!

Also, throughout this entire blog, and for the past 2-3 hours, I've been listening to "Country Sh*t" by Big K.R.I.T., and I might be addicted to this song...

Anyway, I'm off!

*Author's note: Last blog was my top 10 2011 albums. I would like to take this time to say I want to move #4 down to #7 and switching the #7 to the #5 spot, as well as switching #9 and #10. I rushed a bit on this list, and wanted to say this now. Too lazy to actually edit the list.

End of 2011: List #1

Oh damn. Hard to believe 2011 is almost over. It was a great year, and one I surely will miss, and tons of awesome crap happened. Great games, great moments, etc. Next year is "the end of the world", but that won't be for a while, so we're good.

So, I will have multiple Top 10 or so lists to end out this, and today is the first:

My Top 10 Albums of the Year!

What can I say, I love music... so while some of you can predict #1, you probably might not be able to get the other 9 :U

Let's begin!

-

-

#10: Watch the Throne (Jay-Z & Kanye West)
Fav song: N*ggas in Paris

The spot for #10 was a fight between rap duos: "Hell: The Sequel" by Bad Meets Evil (aka Eminem and Royce Da 5'9"), and this album, created by the combined forces of Jay-Z and Kanye. I had to pick "Watch the Throne". While both were good, WtT felt much more stronger in terms of content, compositions, and greatness.

The song I chose as my fav - with a very naughty word in the title - is a sample of what this album contains.

-

-

#9: The Truth Is... (Theory of a Deadman)
Fav song: B*tch Came Back

With a styIe somewhat similar but different from Nickelback and awesome Canadianess, ToaD is an awesome rock group, and with their newest album, this remains true. Pure rock any rock fan could enjoy.

The best song from this album - also with naughty words - is a great example of their pure rock styIe and lyrics.

-

-

#8: LASERS (Lupe Fiasco)
Fav song: Words I Never Said

Awww yea, Lupe Fiasco! One of the greatest rappers of this generation with insane lyrical abilities and catchy as hell songs and raps, he returns after quite some time with this wonderful awesomeness. Once again, he possesses amazing lyrics that flow like the cleanest water. With songs like "I Don't Wanna Care" and "Out of my Head" that blend awesomeness with incredibleness, "LASERS" is a winner.

"Words I Never Said" is the strongest song on the album with the strongest lyrics and a powerful theme that really does describe our facked up society.

-

-

#7: Wasting Light (Foo Fighters)
Fav song: Walk

You happy Cloud? YOU HAPPY CLOUD?? Good. Anyways, yes, Foo Fighters, an awesome rock band. What makes this album good? Well, listen to it... it cannot be described with words.

I have "Walk" right there... listen... you'll puke rainbows. Honorable mention goes to the remix of "Rope" by deadmau5 on the deluxe edition of the album.

-

-

#6: All 6's and 7's (Tech N9ne)
Fav song: Worldwide Choppers (ft. a sh*tton of people)

This guy right hurr. Crazy bro. This album is friggin' crazy with huge guest appearances and hugely awesome raps and songs. This album perfectly captures this and the many guest artists all do pretty well (he even made T-Pain sound good, FFS!).

"Worldwide Choppers" is practically perfect, and features some of the fastest rappers in the game. YelaWolf, Busta Rhymes, Twista... this song basically sums up the entire album.

-

-

#5: Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray (Seether)
Fav song: Here and Now

Hard rockers hailing from South Africa deliver with this, and even gained top rock album of 2011 from Loudwire. Impressive! What makes this different from most of Seether's usual stuff is that this album has an overall softer tone to it, and while risky, it turned out very, very great.

My fav song perfectly sums up what I meant, and is damn amazing.

-

-

#4: Neighborhoods (Blink-182)
Fav song: Heart's All Gone

They're baaaaaaack! Blink-182 return with this album, focusing on more mature themes and songs, and is a great album. I reviewed the album a while back, so read that for more details.

-

-

#3: Give the Drummer Some (Travis Barker)
Fav song: Let's Go (another song with YelaWolf, Busta Rhymes, and Twista)

Travis Barker, the awesome Blink-182 drummer, has released a solo album after becoming well-known in the rap community for his remixes and productions. And this album offers plenty of rap-rock like songs (but not all are rap: one song features Corey Taylor of Slipknot, for example). Good effort, Barker!

And the best way to showcase is my personal favorite, "Let's Go".

-

-

#2: American Tragedy (Hollywood Undead)
Fav song: Been to Hell

I have gone on about these guys multiple times, so this will be nothing new: HU is bloody awesome. I love rap rock. This album is filled with new songs (their first, debut album had songs they recorded and self-released, so not much was new, but this... THIS was epic.

And "Been to Hell" is bloody-f*cking-awesome. Awwwwwwwww yea!

-

And #1, as some may have predicted...

-

-

#1: Radioactive (YelaWolf)
Fav song: Growing Up in the Gutter (Live version, no other better version on YouTube)

Oh yes, the newest guy on the scene, the latest signee to Shady records, and boy. this guy is awesome (I mean, he appeared twice on the list so far on other songs). His debut shows lyrical skills and proves white guys can be technical rappers like Busta. Plus he has amazing lyrics and doesn't afraid of anything. Good show, Yela.

"Growing Up in the Gutter" is a perfect example from this album, showing that he can go hard and that he is and will be the next big thing, and not another nub rapper.

And those are awesome albums.

Listen to 'em. Good bye.

Kirby, Yo!

http://www.gamespot.com/kirbys-return-to-dreamland/user-reviews/781648

Gaze upon this review, and let it convince you that you must buy this game. Yes, I have given it the holy honor of a *gasp* PERFECT 10 out of a possible 10. This is the second 10 this year (inFamous 2 being the first, btw buy that game), making 2011 a truly epic year for video games. Amongst this 10 are some 9.5s and 9s, and with penty of more games I'm getting for Christmas, there shall be more!

Now to finish some other games I need to:

Metroid Prime: I barely played it, and still need to escape the Frigate.

Kirby Mass Attack: A fun game, don't know why I haven't played this, seeing as it's very accessable. I've played quite a bit though, and so far I'm feeling around 8 for this game, another great score.

Rayman Origins: Bought on Black Friday for $20 off! So far really epic and offers a nice challenge. Currently feels like a 9 game, making for awesome.

Uncharted 1: My brother has become a massive Uncharted 2 fanboy, so he bought it, yet I have yet to play it. Besides, I liked Uncahrted 2 (8).

Kirby's Return to Dreamland and Sonic Generations: I wish to 100% these two awesome games.

And some games I am done playing:

Four Swords Anniversary: My final score is a 6. While it was fun, it grew boring rather quickly and hasn't kept my attention, and is worth it's current price: free.

Plus games I'm gonna get for Christmas:

Cave Story 3D: I love Cave Story. I need to have this.

Super Mario 3D Land: As Jim Sterling put it, "He's a fixer." He has helped taken care of the 3DS's lacking library.

Mario Kart 7: MKDS is my favorite Mario Kart, so I have some high hopes for this game. I do want this game greatly.

Uncharted 3: Again, I liked Uncharted 2.

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3: U MAD PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT MvC3???

Skyward Sword: Thanks to Tom Mc Shea, I am getting this game. Thank you my friend.
