I opened up yahoo and saw this. I was kind of annoyed because it isn't even a good game and is bundled with the Wii so it obviously will sell well. Can somebody link for me? I'm a noob.
Don't get me wrong, Gears 2 and SSBB should obviously be contenders for GOTY, but NHL 09 is the best sports game ever made, in my opinion. Believe me, I'm not saying that it is better than Gears or SSBB, but it just did everything perfectly for a sports title. If GS was trying to get the best from each genre, it makes sense that NHL is up there.
