Thanks everyone, it was a tough feature to make - so many amazing games to cram in. Some of you have mentioned Heretic, which I also loved, but that was a Raven series published by id. I decided to focus on id's main releases, to try and tell their story as concisely as possible. Thanks again, now go play Rage!

I own Doom 2 and Ultimate Doom, as well as Quake 1 & 2. I had Quake 3 Arena, but now rock Open Arena alot more for its user-created stuff.

"Heretic" was probably my favorite ID game. Growing up I was always hooked on the medieval games, and Heretic did it for me, Medieval Doom. It was also a game where me and my cousin started bonding,I would play the game and he would be a navigator telling me where to go,or where we last saw the door for a key to use. Good times ID,good times :D

Vacuum cleaners will always be hoovers and id will always be I.D. I'm to old to be changing now. Quake 3's music and "You have taken the lead!" sent shivers of excited nostalgia down my spine.

Doom II was the first PC game I ever played, while my sisters were enjoying Myst, I was tearing through pixelated zombies and blowing Imps inside out with a rocket launcher. Spent most of 4th and 5th grade playing it, break it out once and a while for nostalgia. Loved Doom 3 but didn't have the same impact on me that Doom II did, hoping I won't have to wait too long for the next Doom game.

Awesome video, two thumbs way up. Quake 3 Arena is such a classic, if you have never played it there is something wrong with you.

This is probably the last place for a book recommendation, but check out Masters of Doom by David Kushner. It's a very personal story of the id Software founders, Romero and Carmack told up to the start of Doom 3. It also tells the source of online smack talking.

Doom 3 was horrible. Just terrible. The original Doom games were far, far better and more memorable.

Doom is STILL fun to play and the music beats most of the music heard in games today.

Awesome work sir. My favorite id game has to be Doom. I lost count of the number of hours I spent playing it when it came out, staying up late at night and scaring myself silly. I've played little of Rage, but I quite enjoy it so far. Great action, great guns, great atmosphere, non-existent story. Yep, it's an id game all right.
