The Gist - 4 PC Shooter Alternatives To Destiny

You forgot Defiance ,it's very similar to Destiny

Is this list a joke? It recommends Titanfall but not Hawken, which is the much better Mech-Shooter nowadays. It has Dead Space on the list, a shooter which is like 10 years old, but it does not mention Planetside 2 at all, the biggest Scifi and biggest MMO-shooter that has ever been made. What a fail!

I think they choosed old games and multiplatform games only on purpose, to make next gen consoles not looking so bad.

And surprise...each of these games is far better than Destiny.

Destiny is just a boring grindfest without heart or soul. A game to be forgotten in a few weeks.

I played about 45 minutes of Dead Space, then exit to desktop while crying in fear.

So Gamespot's answer to providing people with PC based alternatives to Destiny is to just list a bunch of generic games that are mostly console ports? I mean I guess I should have expected it since this is Gamespot, but come on. Titanfall? Dead Space? I mean did they just pick buzzwords from the product description of Destiny and find games that had one of the same buzzwords in their description?

Destiny is Borderlands.... this list is just plain stupid....

These are really stupid alternatives. They don't even really compare. The only thing that belongs there is Borderlands.

Aliens vs Predator 2 is the superior alternative.

Borderlands and Titanfall, I agree, sure, but saying that in Mass Effect you have to fight for mankind, just like in Destiny -- and I hope the analogy was meant only for that part -- is misleading, to put it mildly. Mass Effect and Dead Space have nothing in common with Destiny, other than you fight enemies. There are more, better alternatives.

Just throw away your garbage PC and go buy next-gen console. Problem solved.

Not mentioning Planetside 2 is an epic fail, the original mmofps series.

I'd throw in Planetside 2 and Blacklight Retribution.

Nobody's missing Destiny on PC. It's just overhyped and already overrated shooter. Move along.

Why there is so much "Destiny" articles in the website? In recent times ,gamespot has created such hype over some games that it seems to me that gamespot is becoming "Adspot " for big shot companies.

Borderlands and dead space for life! i haven't played ANY mass effect games, i should i know! i try in the near future.

Why are you recommending third person shooters that are years old? I can bet anything there isn't anyone out there that were interested in Dead Space or Mass Effect or even Borderlands have played them by now.

And Titanfall is boring after 2 weeks because there aren't that many weapons to play around with.

Better recommendations would be Planetside 2 & Warframe.

Played destiny beta. Competent but uninspired. And 16 hours for main story? Xbox one idiots will pick it up but I have better things to spend money on. Like chimps who can juggle donuts.

Destiny is the least interesting game out of all the ones mentioned in the video. Comparing it to something as epic as Mass Effect is a disgrace. There are so many better alternatives available on every platform including PC which are much more worth playing.

Destiny is one of the most derivative games out there, there are TONS of alternatives. I personally prefer "Borderlands 2". Destiny tries so hard to be "transcendent" and serious. It wants to be the "2001: A Space Odyssey" of videogames, but it´s more like "Red Planet" (the cheesy movie with Val Kilmer and a robotic dog).

WTF? Why are you comparing Dead Space to an open world MMO shooter!?

Destiny will be even better 2 years from now when they add new classes, planet and vehicles.

lol, there are no PC alternatives to Destiny, and yes, I have a tonne of games in my Steam library too, but I'm not so arrogant as to deprive myself from the epic experience that is Destiny! 30fps is not ideal, but damn this is the best looking game out there, lvl 20 already and hooked!

As far as multiplayer first person shooters go,once you go Planetside 2 you can never go back!Seriously people,anyone who has a decent PC and hasnt tried it yet should do so A S A P!(as our british platoon leader likes to shout to emphasize on objectives)
