The Gist - 4 PC Shooter Alternatives To Destiny

Not one of these other alternatives adds value to the customer. :/

Also, of all the other games which some of you have mentioned here, Planetside 2 is the only one which I would agree with to any degree (though not by much; it's an SOE game). The others are run-of-the-mill (especially Defiance) or are still works-in-progress (e.g. FireFall).

@brockelley @tempertress @Weaponn_X I got Defiance way back when it got cheap, but well before it went free to play. I did have fun for a few somewhat long sessions, over maybe 1-2 weeks, but then that was it. It just got repetitive, enemy AI was very boring to fight, and overall the game was kinda bland. Maybe I just didn't get it, so to speak.

Wasn't interested in Destiny when it was announced and not interested in it now.

@tempertress @Weaponn_X You're right, but those 3 games are easily the best shooter games available to play right now.. it's just kind of strange that they get no love, except in all the comment sections.

Look I own an XBOX One and PS4 cause I enjoy console gaming. I have Destiny on PS4 but when this hits PC, am buying it again.

Was expecting to see Firefall in this video.

You pc peeps that want to play Destiny. You should just Plug in your Mouse and Keyboard to a console, Problem Solved :)

Here's my Sci-Fi Destiny Alternative Shooter: Jess McDonell in a Leia Slave outfit on my bed, and I do the shooting.

Halo and Halo 2 were not great games. They were great on the Xbox consoles, but not on PC. By that time I've played such amazing games on the PC, that when I tried Halo and Halo 2 on the console it wasn't very good. I mean they weren't bad or anything, but they weren't even close to what had and what was already available on PC.

For people who've never owned a PC and only had Xbox console it may have been the best game ever, but for people who've played PC, who've played Nintendo before PC and even played PS 1, it was a decent, but far from great games.

The Halo series I feel has always been overhyped and overrated, just because it was good on 1 console, while ignoring the hundreds of better games that have come out of Nintendo, PC and even PS systems.

Warframe is one game i think you should have mentioned.

I would have added the new Wolfenstein, alt history sci fi and the best shooter of 2014. Also, way cooler weapons.

None of these games are mmorpg, which Destiny is like. Been playing it for 4-6 hrs now and i can say its pretty solid.

*looks at the 100+ games on his steam account he still needs to play* You know what, I think I'm going to be just fine not playing Destiny.

I don't have a console so I can't play Destiny but I really feel like I'm missing out because all my friends are playing it; that being said: I played the beta and it was boring.

Aside from the "missing out" feeling, I don't think I would play Destiny for very long on my own if my friends stopped playing it. I'll probably pick it up this holiday though
