Bethesda says it will make 'considerably more noise' in 2013

Skyrim publisher teases new announcements for this year.

Publisher Bethesda is aiming to make "considerably more noise" in 2013 than it did in 2012, the company's vice president of PR and marketing, Pete Hines, has said.

Speaking on the OXM podcast, Hines teased upcoming announcements from the publisher alongside its known lineup of The Elder Scrolls Online and DLC for Dishonored.

"Obviously The Elder Scrolls Online is out, and we've got the Dishonored DLC," said Hines, "but we will be announcing new stuff and making some noise, and I think when we get the chance to show you guys what we're up to, that you'll sit up and take notice."

Hines said Bethesda was working with "passionate teams who know what they're doing," but would not go into details.

As for what Bethesda might be looking to show, last week the publisher confirmed that the id Software shooter Doom 4 had been rebooted but was still in development, and many gamers would almost certainly be excited to hear about a follow-up to 2011's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Fallout 3 gave you much more freedom to explore and do whatever you like.

New Vegas forced you to go through a specific way; it felt restricted. I didn't really like that.

@apocalyps382 @alec20 New Vegas actually had mutually exclusive factions. If you stick with NCR the Legion hates you and vice versa. That added a lot to the game by itself imo. F3 didn't do a whole lot that really stood out to me.

@The_Beanster It's not interfering with the next single player Elder Scrolls game at all it's not even made by the same group of people right? I doubt i would be interested in the mmo but if it doesn't stop them from making an elder scrolls VI then i'm okay with them trying.

@shock_88 The history of MMOs is that they often either sink the company or turn everything they do into a pseudo-MMO. I hope you are right, though.

If it truly is a side project that has zero influence on the next TES at all, I don't care.

@The_Beanster Totally agree, not really liking this MMO thing. Especially a few years ago when Tod Howard said that The Elder Scrolls Series is MEANT to be a single player experience only.

Just hope it doesn't effect the next Elder Scrolls.

@The_Beanster I think it's a horrible idea... especially because it's not really an Elder Scrolls game. It's more of a spin-off but no one is going to think that. An MMO isn't really what we wanted. We wanted Skyrim with 4 player co-op.

Skyrim, modded on my PC, is the best game i've ever played.
i loved the witcher 2, which had better technical qualities, no dount, but no game is as vast, full of content, open ended and full of features (albeit kinda mediocre ones) as skyrim. with a few dozens of mods the mediocre features and mechanics of skyrim can become much better - producing the best game i have ever played. no game got me playing it more than 400 hours over 3 characters and still loving every moment of it.
the witcher 3 might be something amazing but since it's a game about geralt and not about any type of character i want it to be, it's not gonna be as open and free as skyrim.
but it will have better graphics and probably better sword fighting and story :)

Fallout and TES is always best served on a PC imo , I am still enjoying modding up Skyrim. Witcher 3 looks like it's gonna be awesome, I too would like to choose my own character though, maybe in later games when they are finished with Geralt.We can only hope :)

I just hope the next Elder Scrolls will be less "dumbed down". Skyrim did a lot of things right, like the perk system, more unique spells and less "copy/paste" dungeons. But I would like to see more RPG elements and immersion that Oblivion and Morrowind had. Bring back spellmaking and stats!

Skyrim still kicks ass either way.

@valium88 @KamuiFei Quality over quantity no matter how many dungeons skyrim had , they all looked the same , and there are many RPG's which offer more varied environments than bethesda GS ever has ,examples Withcer series and almost every game by Bioware

@DeKuip And what do you know ? Skyrim is pobably the only TES or even Bethesda game you have ever played just because you hear about it on the internet , I have played and modded TES from Daggerfall and have played games with TEN times the scenery of Skyrim .

Yeah DA and Mass Effect are really prime examples, right? Especially DA 2 but Im sure that's not included in your "most" list. Witcher 2 was great though.

Yes, but no TES title has had randomly generated environment since titles before Morrowind and that's a while ago, to put it mildly,. NPC's that I totally agree on, story and characters need more work in future games.
