Red Alert 3 for PS3 'on hold'

so what ps3 isnt getting this i dont like to play these games with a paddle i get these kinda games for my computer the mouse dominates the paddles any day for any C&C but as long as we get the 3rd person shooter C&C no harm done to me i played tiberium wars for 360 an hated having to rush from one side of the map to the other with a joystick

@ 09231991. We've had a difference of opinion in the past, but I'm with you. Simply having a console preference doesn't make you a fanboy. It is expensive to own all 3 systems but at this stage in the game you can't go wrong with any of them. You prefer the 360 and have your reasons. I prefer the PS3 because I use the Blu-Ray, it meets all my gaming needs and I've had hardware issues in the past. It is possible to prefer one console over the other and not hate the others. I don't hate my 360, I just don't play it anymore and I'm waiting for games that I want to play on it, but they aren't readily forthcoming for me.

I expected more from my 360 this year. It's supposed to have hit its stride already, but what the hell? I haven't bought a game (other than Pyschonauts) for my 360 since Halo 3 came out. I can get everything else on my PS3 and I don't have to worry about my old 360 console dying for the 4th time. Left 4 Dead was pushed back to Nov (wouldn't surprise me if it slips to 2009). Other than that there's just Fable 2 that I'm looking forward too, and Alan Wake, if it ever sees the light of day. My 360 had a lackluster first year, great second year, and now a lackluster 3 year. And where are the exclusives in 2009? MS had better not be pulling the plug again.

@ ps3ThaBest, I chose the 360 for the sheer reason of the games. Thats why I think the 360 is better right now than the PS3. But I will get a PS3 in the future but right now, I can't afford both so I want to get the one thats gonna bring me the most enjoyment and more bang for my buck and that was the 360 for me, but as I've stated multiple times, I'm not a fanboy of either company, if I could afford it, I would buy both in a heartbeat but I can't.

@furionpride... if microsoft and sony merged together you'd just be left with a oversized shiny black xbox with too many over rated features and RROD :) I can see it now... it'll be a new type of WMD... just introduce a X-Station into a country's gaming market and within a week you've burnt down half the houses in that country haha

@darkride... thats because when 360 games get delayed they get delayed til another time with a new date or time period being announced at the same time.. lately all these ps3 games seem to be getting delayed to a "maybe we'll never make it" state. i think it's fair enough for people to be worried, I certainly am.. I'm starting to think that Sony were lying about their successes in order to try and fuel real ones. I'm also noticing that production of the console has decreased... since the GTAIV console package. PS3s are out of stock on a lot of sites and in a lot of shops. We know this can't be due to demand cos there has never been a massive demand for them hence they've NEVER sold out. Let's just hope (dare I say it) that the PS3 doesn't become the next Dreamcast (OK it's an exageration for now but I'm starting to think it could be possible... I might cry)

Also, this is common in the industry, sad but true. Look at Alan Wake, Halo Wars and Left 4 Dead. These were all recently pushed back, however news of 360 delays don't seem to warrant actual news articles on Gamespot, for some reason. I would think that, as this affects more users, it becomes more newsworthy. Not the case. Instead we get news regarding a RTS delay that no one was asking for. You might as well post that "Cooking Mama" isn't coming to the PS3 and make a news story out of that.

well at least they didnt do what rockstar did with gta, at least the 360 and pc versions dont need to be put on hold cos of something wrong with the PS3

I like 'Universe at War', its great to play against PC gamers and am looking forward to this. I really hope it turns out well as i enjoy RTS games.

I'm starting to get worried here. Why are there so many PS3 games being put on hold? Are the people just really struggling with the SDK? and is it the same as the PS2 where everyone really struggled in the beginning of the dev process and later on started pumping out really awesome games or is the SDK screwed up and the hardware profile of the PS3 just not thought out properly? I understand that the PS3 is extremely powerful. But is it powerful in the right way (gaming ways and not just computing wise - general pc computing).

Either EA Games did this to get a laugh from you fanboys, or they are the most lazy game developer around.

I LOLed so hard when I read this head line, EA is smart not to waste money on a Sony version of RA3. This news just made me more interested in this game.

I know why it was cancelled, EA is going to take the money they saved on developing the PS3 version and use it to sweeten their offer for Take 2 .

Do you even realise how ridiculous this sounds? Who's says Sony isn't working on the PS4 as we speak? Don't tell me you actually think the PS3 will compete for 10 years while Nintendo & Micro$oft release their next consoles, Sony isn't that stupid. What's this about about Sony being behind? Last time I checked PS3 is future-proof unlike it's inferior competitor. NextBox making PS3 look like N64 is by far the dumbest insult by a 360 fanboy.

@dysonlu i believe so yes.. i dont, thats what a pc is for. I cant imagine anyone who has a computer would choose to buy them on console over their pc.

@EVERYONE it doesnt really matter cause which console is better is a matter of preference, some prefer the 360 some the ps3.. but id you wanna compaer on a tech aspect the ps3 is stronger. You wanna go with game library 360 has more games, but all of you 360 fanboys need to admit that 360 had the advantage in releasing a year earlier. As far as exclusives go, you all keep saying more exclusives on xbox. well the sad truth it with the next gen consoles the exclusive are few and far between. NEITHER consoles has a good number exclusives, not even close to the number teh ps2/xbox generation had. the fact is cause there are more multi platform titles now than ever. There were very few, and i do mean VERY FEW titles that were on both xbox and ps2. But now you struggle to find those exclusives, cause teh fact is exclusives are fazing out and the reason why is teh game developers make more money off the games being platformed. As far as ps3 not having any titles coming out after MGS4 thats untrue. They have FFXIII and FFXIII versus. While Xbox has gears of war 2 and fable 2. So quit the **** its all preference and if you take the time to look and research you'kll find the number of exlcusives to either console is about the same number.

I see this game being dead on the PS3. I am tired of hearing how lazy the developers are if they don't release a game for the 360 and the PS3 at the same time. Sony fans need to get their head of the sand. Sony made a system that is hard to program for. This are now paying the price for doing that. I remember when Sony talked to developers before they released the PS1 and they told them that they wanted a powerful system that was easy to program for. The PS1 went on to crush the Saturn because they had so many 3rd party games and the hard to program for Saturn was falling behind in getting 3rd party support. Times have changed.

Actually I don't really care if any RTS comes to PS3 since I preferred PC over any consoles for RTS games. PC for RTS/FPS and RPGS/action/adventure on my Xbox and PS3. :3

@sykalob It seems to me you should hate Sony not MS as MS is just doing its duty in providing top games for its customers and if Sony aren't willing to push EA in development of the product then thats their fault and no one elses, so just bite the bullet and get a 360 already you'll realise what you've been missing and have tons more fun.

i didnt say that there r ones that i like but they r also on something else i do like gears and mass effect bioshock and some others but with thoee 3 i can play them on pc

that isnt what most people say also doesnt mass effect has alot of glitches and lags alot and stuff like that

@ shadowhunter0, Umm, the 360 sold a little over 20 mil and the PS3 sold about 13 mil. And plus, Gears and Uncharted are pretty on par in the graphics department, and Gears came out a year before it. But as of now, the best looking game on a console is Mass Effect on the 360, period. No other game looks better than it. Plus, very few titles look better on the PS3 than the 360 in multi-plat titles, I would say 10 to 15% of multi-plat between them look better on the PS3 and the other 85 to 90% look better on the 360. @ nazraq - "uncharted- rental. heavenly sword- rental. ridge racer 7 - worth it for $15. resistance - crap. ratchet and clank future - pretty good. mgs4 - can't wait. genji - crap. untold legends - crap. eye of judgement - crap. lair - crap. thats all i can think of off the top of my head. looks to me that the ps3 has little to offer. R&C also was a 5 or 6 hour game with no replay value and (from what I heard) no MP = buy for hardcore fans but rental to mass public. Racing games in general and sports games in general I hate so that doesn't matter. MGS 4 is the Messiah for the PS3 = Buy. Basically, a lot of exclusive titles really aren't appealing to non-fanboy gamers of the PS3. I'm not of fanboy of either system, 360, PS3 or Wii, but its because of the poor exclusive titles that the PS3 has that made it easy for my choice to own a 360.

I love RTS games. I got this reserved already. Its always good news to hear cancellations on PoS3!

I just think they pulled production because of how hard developers are saying it is to program games on the PS3.

Uncharted is not that impressive of a game and not even mentioned when talked about best looking games. It does nice things with physics but that game was confused and tried to do to much.
