Red Alert 3 for PS3 'on hold'

had the 360 and PS3 I ended up selling my 360. I use my my PS3 every day, from games. remote play, internet and movies - I love it!!! And I don't think I would of bought Red Alert anyway. You can really see the PS3 is a monster I feel lik ethe 360 has played all its cards (good system - don't get me wrong) but the PS3 just has a ton of life. And the games are good - play them.

You'd see that if you didn't have tunnel vision. Not to say PS3 doesn't have some gems approaching as well. The games that came out last year didn't disappear, you use strange logic. darkride: For a person who has so many PS3 games that you don't have time to play, you spend a lot of time on these boards hounding 360 fanboys. Leave them alone and get to playing all of those great games. Personally I'm a RPG and action/RPG fan, so there aren't many games on either system that intrigue me. But I have to give the 360 the edge. Until the PS3 comes out with games with great graphics and great stories, I'll stick with the 360.

Bioshock is not overrated at all. The atmosphere in that game is great and combines great elements of different genres. Consider all those who own a PS3 and refuse to buy a 360 lucky that they will get to play this. MGS4 is the first great exclusive game for the PS3. The rest of them have been average at best. I think the most important # for developers that they look at is not the consoles owned right now but the amount of software sold per console owned. M$ leads in this number I think 7:1 compared to 3:1 for Sony(Correct me if I am mistaken). That is all a developer cares about, how many games they will sell as that is how they make their money.

Does the PS3 even have one RTS game on it at all? Is it even capable of running them? XBOX 360 has like 10 of them. In fact XBOX 360 has much more games of almost every single genre than PS3 has. Red Alert 3 isn't going to be the end of this unless some new easier to use PS3 dev tools come out.

Well, my uneducated guess about why people above the age of 27 are playing the PS3 is because the one's 26 & younger can't afford $500 for the better 80gig (non-existent until the launch of the MGS4 bundle), are in college & broke, or out of college & broke because they have to pay back their student loans in which should be paid off around the time the turn... let's say... 27! im gonna be upgrading to a geforce8200mGPU motherboard for the time being. those boards have a PCI-E2.0 which means in about a years time I can get a proper card at a lower price that will run even Crysis at very high settings. I dont have much money right now so ill get: AMD Phenom X4 9750 @2.4GHz either 2x2GB RAM or 2x1GB RAM (depends on how much money I have) and of course the mGPU motherboard. that will cost me about US$550. i have no clue whats going on with PS3, but its something Sony must take seriously if they want to compete with X360.

The more exlusives goes to the 360. The better 3rd party versions goes to the 360. According to you're reasoning there is no reason to buy MGS on the PS3 because it's like Splinter Cell on the PS2 and that's close enough... Makes no sense at all to me.

@Istcorona Well the only reason they are not reported is because people did research into it and found out most people were talking bollocks about their problems. Plus turn arounds of the busted 360's went from like 6 weeks down to a week. Which shows they are either fixing less or hiring more staff to fix them. Or they don't break much anymore. On the internet you will always get people who lie sadly so that 30% people on the internet claimed was actually more like 12%. And that was like almost 3 years ago. People can't accept the problem has pretty much gone. But if it was the PS3 having the problems as it did with it's PS2's then it would be the same story. That is one of the bad factors of the internet. Loads of people lie out their ass.

Sony is working for Microsoft. How, you're probably saying? Well they desgined the PS3, making it so difficult and costly to develop for compared to all of the other systems this generation. Sony single handedly gave Microsoft's XBOX 360 about 30 exclusive games, and lost 7 of their own exclusives for this reason alone. They are their own worst enemy. That's why Red Alert 3 is on hold. Just like many other canceled multi-platform games that would have been on PS3.

The stupidity just keeps on coming. Guts5 makes a half decent point with his post about some genres the PS3 is missing. Of course the PS3 doesn't have a 3rd person shooter like gears of war. It's a great game that can't really by imitated. Well it can, but it won't be as good. But then you say something like "How about JRPGS like Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata?". How about FINAL FANTASY. The PS3 is getting bioshock and has a WRPG. Oblivion. Again, fanboys make up stuff to try and prove their points, and only other fanboys really care. You have to love this generation of consoles. Fanboys on both sides admitting their love for their console. Why does GS have to give us more articles on 360 issues, could it be there are less of them which makes for no news. You could say that I am lucky and my 360 has not had an issue or that those out there are unlucky and are on multiple consoles. I also wonder how they treat their machines. I had a problem with my PS2 and GC from last generation so I expect something to happen at least once. And stop saying that M$ paid this site or a developer because they have unlimited funds and that is what they do. Sony corp does the same behind the scenes business as M$. Whatever it takes to succeed and you better believe both companies will do it.

We all know why the PS3 version was canned or put on hold, the PS3 is a pain to develope for. If a major dev puts a major title on hold for a console, that should be some serious warning signs for Sony. If I was Sony, I'd be on the phone right now with EA asking what they need.

But those stats are saying 52% of people ABOVE 27 play on the 360 compared to only 20% on PS3. That means the 360 has the mature audience darkride.

oh well sucks for me being a student cant update a computer at the instant to keep up,since i spend my cash on other more useful stuff,so i rely on my PS3 and wii for most of my gaming needs.Also i dont see the point in pulling out cash for a 360 only 1 exclusive i would actually pay for is AC6. this kinda sucks for people in a similar position to me.who cant throw cash at a computer cause they need it for coursework stuff,transport and oh aye my biggest priority is a Car rather than updating my comp which does its function to surf the net and play music and play a little GTA SAMP on the side. Pains me to say im gonna have to pass on a game i had a lot of hope for and i love the red alert series a lot.

I know I just posted, but I couldn't help it. There are a couple of people saying things like "OMG Gamespot is a bunch of microsoft fanboys!! Death to gamespot!!!" Seriously? This article is written by gamespot uk, if you guys could read. But people say that no matter which section wrote it, be it the american or AU site wrote it. So your saying that CNET (soon to be CBC) only hires people who are 360 fanboys? What like that's a question in an interview? And all of this across three different country's. Come on, grow up. I guess you could call me a "ps3 fanboy" cause i don't own an xbox console, and don't plan to for a while. But at least i don't go around perpetuating the stereotypical fanboy crap every time i post on an Internet site. Your all incredibly stupid. Hopefully Darwinism will kick in soon, and no one will have to hear you speak ever again.

@ Guts5. You missed my point. I'm gaming primarily on my PS3 because I've been unable to game reliably on my 360. You don't like mediocre games? Don't play them. Play the great games the PS3 has to offer, the Uncharteds, the Warhawks along with your COD4's, Burnouts, Assassin's Creeds, GTA4's, etc... Why on earth would you buy a 360 now if you had a PS3? For the cost of a gimped 360 arcade, to use your example, you could instead have Burnout, Lego Indy, COD4, GTA4, Oblivion. Something for every gamer and probably 200+ hours of great gaming that shouldn't be missed that will keep you busy for half a year, and then you can start on the exclusives. And then, just for kicks, throw on a Blu-Ray movie and entertain the kids.
