The Last of Us PS3 Owners Won't Get a Discount on Remastered PS4 Version
"Alas, there is no upgrade discount," Sony says; European version's multiplayer mode is censored just like the PS3 game was.

People who already own a PlayStation 3 copy of The Last of Us will not be given an "upgrade discount" if they decide to buy the PlayStation 4 Remastered iteration, Sony announced today. Today's confirmation comes after Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli said in April that Sony was considering a potential upgrade offer.
"Alas, there is no upgrade discount," Sony's Fred Dutton said today in the comments section on the European PlayStation Blog. Meanwhile, Sony's Sid Shuman writes on the North American PlayStation Blog that "no upgrade path" will be available. The company didn't say today why this wasn't possible.
The Last of Us Remastered was originally announced as a $60 game, but Sony announced a $10 price cut last month, bringing the price down to $50. There is some good news for multiplayer fans, however, as all of the multiplayer DLC you bought on PS3 can be downloaded to the PS4 version at no extra charge.
Dutton also confirmed on the European PlayStation Blog that The Last of Us Remastered's multiplayer component in Europe will be censored to tone down the gore, just like the PS3 version was. "Multiplayer is the same as in the EU PS3 version--there have been no changes in this respect," he said.
The Last of Us Remastered launches July 29 exclusively on PS4. The core gameplay is unchanged, but you'll find that the L2 and R2 triggers now control aiming and firing. If this configuration is not to your liking, you can switch back to the classic L1 and R1 controls. The Last of Us Remastered also makes use of the DualShock 4's touchpad and lightbar.
The game runs in at 1080p/60fps (though there is a locked 30fps option), includes previously released DLC, and features commentary from director Neil Druckmann and actors Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie).
