The Last of Us PS3 Owners Won't Get a Discount on Remastered PS4 Version

This isn't a Sony issue. All companies do this. There were a select few that offered "upgrade" trade ins but you traded in your $60.00 game for only 10 dollars off on the new one.

Pre-ordered this a few months ago and haven't played the original so I'm excited as hell! Uncharted is one of my favorite series of all-time, so I can't wait to see what Joel and Ellie have to offer!

Yea so? I mean it should be obvious. Same goes with most other remastered titles e.g Halo Master Chief collection. You won't get a discount for owning all the Halo games for 360 neither. BUT it's Eddie Makuch......so let's make an article about it.

They didn't say why this wasn't possible because they don't want it to be. For as much time and money that they're spending on a remastering job there's no way that they're going to offer their game at a discount to potentially hundreds of thousands (if not a million or so) of people who have a PS4 and bought this game on PS3 before.

No biggie I will just wait till holiday time or catch it on sale on amazon(used) or glyde for about 25 or 30 when the time comes for me to check it out.

I am curious though if Sony keeps remastering ps3 biggest titles then what exactly with be the point of their gaming service

@Mandrew257 I just said it was the best option and still is. I wasn't exactly impressed with all the 360 exclusives moved to and coming out for the One instead. =P

What I find hilarious is << LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> were constantly saying how Halo is a crap game. Titanfall is a crap game. That they are glad it's not on PlayStation. It's for losers. Xbox owners only play garbage FPS etc. etc. etc.

Then, Bungie makes another game which is almost a copy and paste clone of Halo with PS4 exclusives and all of a sudden space alien fp shooters are the BOMB!!!!

I refuse to buy a game that is censored.

I don't care enough about buying a new version of a game that came out a year ago (except GTAV PC). Give me FF12 and I'm set for HD remakes on console.

Understandable. It's a different platform. You wouldn't get people questioning why Microsoft doesn't discount Xbox games for people who own the game on Windows so I don't see any obligation for Sony to do so.

Upgrade discounts make sense if the better quality version is announced before the first version has been released or at least hasn't finished its sales run. That way people who would buy the "worse" version aren't discouraged from buying.

This doesn't make sense for TLOU. The publisher would only be giving money away. Just sell your old game and consider that as your discount, if you so need one.

This upgrade discount isn't some standard business practice in the game industry, so i don't understand why a few people are up in arms about it, or why not having one is somehow news to Gamespot

why the hell do they censor the EU version? does Europe not have an 18+ rating if so there should be no censorship of any game no matter how sexual, violent, traumatic etc 18+ should mean anything and i mean anything goes no matter how bad something is it should never be censored and should just be given an 18+ rating it sucks because Australia's (were i live) version of games is usually the same as the Europe version
